It's one of those shows that had me in the first 30 seconds. I still put it on when I want to watch something that's guaranteed to make me laugh. It makes up the bones of all the irreverent Adult Swim shows that would come after it. "Don't you push that bowl off the...!"
If you were ever a fan of Archer (especially the early seasons) you will most likely enjoy the cult Frisky Dingo. Airing on Adult Swim before Archer, it shares many likenesses.
The animation is a bit rougher and the show’s premise is different, but you’ll notice big similarities in humor and character archetypes.
The “hero” lead Zander is voiced by the same actor who does Ray in Archer. I put that in quotes because there are really no good or bad guys in this show. Everyone is an asshole. The villain lead is Killface, who is every bit as hilarious and dickish as Xander is.
By and large it’s a gag oriented show, but there is an ongoing story, a rarity at its time. Unfortunately it ends on an abrupt cliffhanger, but what we do get is engaging and somewhat memorable. Some of the content and not so great animation is dated, but that’s to be expected from 2000’s adult animations.
