First 7 episodes in and they really nailed this. The pacing is great, never a dull moment, they don't drag things, every episode something happens that pushes the action and story forward. I want more and I hope they continue like this.
Reminds me of Stephen King short story even had to check the titles to check either for his name or his sons. Liking it quite a lot so far.
Great show! If you liked Lost this is similar but I personally like this more.
The first season started well with suspense, intrigue, and promise. Unfortunately, the second season reveals it's only fantasy horror with little or no meaning. Characters and their motivations began breaking down rapidly. It's a shame, as I had been enjoying Boyd Stevens very much.
i can already see this show getting canceled.
last ep is poor in all aspects
"Do you believe in monsters?"
Trapped in a town with no way out (Under the Dome), with monsters that can kill your favorite characters anytime (The Walking Dead), having to solve an intriguing mystery (Lost).
A great balance of "getting your hopes up" and then crushing it with "dark, scary and gory". The characters are what's so good about From, they're very The Walking Dead-ish, easily and quickly loveable. The monsters are nightmare fuel, I had a couple nightmares of my own about them. They're humanoid and familiar but can either tear you to shreads in a split second or slowly torture you, and they do it with a smile. They always leave a trail of disturbing (but beautifully made) gore behind. The mystery gets me so invested and intrigued - i'm addicted!
Highly recommend!
This is sooo terrible. 10 episodes to learn absolutely nothing. Endless conversations that only extend the length of each episode. The whole season could be shortened to 1 boring B-movie. What a waste of time. In fact, I ended up fast-forwarding the dialogues, which made me view each episode in 20 minutes, without losing anything from the storyline.
Are you really falling for the same scam again? This show is from the creators of “Lost” And they’re using the same formula: a lot of nonsense they call “misteries” that they’ll never explain, and the End will be just “they were dead and in limbo” They even got the same actor from Lost. LOL
On top of it all the writing is terrible and some of the acting is just amateur. Don’t waste your time.
the show did start off well but after watch the second season it got really boring to the point that I couldn't watch it anymore.
Just finished 2nd season and have some thoughts..
S1 felt great and was great! The spacing between scenes, interesting mystery that kept unfolding, and characters all were spot on. I had thought I found a great current show! Then S2 came along…
S2 began with a really interesting first episode. New people on a bus, weird guy with moving blood that Boyd gets. Ok.. Then it takes a whole season for anyone to tell each other what they know. Everyone one of them have a secret that shouldn’t be secrets. Some secrets are from the previous season (the dude on the radio saying his name). No one talks to each other!
This second season suffered from way too many (boring) side story lines. I think one episode had 7 different scenes rotating, each containing different characters. Get rid of Elgin, Boyd’s son and his wife (who I thought was secretly not into him the entire series, I’m still not convinced and they’re married now), the nurses gf (we were all rooting for Kenny), and Sara’s stories.
I want to talk about how the relationships and partly the acting fell apart too. In S1 Boyd felt like a strong sheriff and was really good at making people feel better. In S2 he seems like a crazy man who can’t hold it together. I know he’s supposed to be frazzled but he just doesn’t seem ok. The show then tries to make scenes that show love and affection, that “everything is going to be ok!”, when no evidence is even shown for that to be true. While everyone has a piece of the puzzle, there isn’t a clear way to end it. Until..
S2 cliffhanger is a Lost ripoff! Tabitha is in a hospital off the island- forrest. So Boyd’s whole blood stuff? Sara’s whole blood stuff and hearing voices? The symbol? The tunnels? The radio? The house collapsing cause of digging? The dreams? The killing of a monster? The nursery song? NOTHING ANSWED, not even close.
S3 will have to do some witchcraft to rebuilt this show into something worthy of respect. We will see.
This is a must watch show!! Can't wait for S3
Really bad acting and dialogues
its a bit like LOST, so far so good
Binge worthy show
I like the interaction between Michael and Walt and how they deal with being stuck there differently…oh wait I meant Boyd and Ellis, but it would be an awesome reveal if Boyd was a nickname and his real name was Michael Dawson.
I really hated Harold Perrineau in "Lost", but mostly because of the character he was playing. In "Lost" Michael didn't do anything else, than betraying everyone in every single episode, and he was shouting "Walt! Waaaalt!" every 5 minutes. Oh, God, that was ridiculous! But that was only his character. In this show I realized, that Perrineau is actually a very good actor. Anything he does, seems authentic.
The others act also very good. There isn't a single bad or untalented actors in this show.
This is actually one of the best mystic/horror/thriller TV shows in the last ten years (or maybe the best?). It's full of suspense, the horror scenes are REALLY scary, let me tell you. I'm not someone easy to scare with a movie or TV show, because I've been watching stuff like this for almost fifty years, but this show sometimes scared the hell out of me.
This show started as a quite basic, but "okay" experience, but from episode to episode I was surprised, that the creators could always come up with something new, something even creepier! If you just started to watch this, DO NOT give up on it to quickly! This one really deserves to be watched, which is very rare nowadays!
A lot of mixed feelings here.
Good:
Show does great on the horror side - and definitely has an engaging premise.
Despite its faults, it never fails to keep you guessing and ups the ante on “wtf” constantly.
Has a great cadence of “day time, vibes” and “night time bad” to keep stakes constantly up.
The bad:
The mystery amounts to nothing, as instead of answering anything they keep tacking on more, and it starts to feel directionless and like the writers don’t know what’s happening either.
Terrible dialog and some even worse acting.
Way too much padding. Despite having a dangerously enticing premise, a lot of it is spent with two characters just talking back story and nothing of importance to the plot.
Back to terrible dialog - the writers don’t know how to make anyone speak without screaming and being mad 24:7.
I will stay tuned for a third season, because it’s entertaining enough. But I don’t see this show becoming a mainstream success with the way the creators drop the ball on basically everything.
don't bother watching this junk, unless you need to go to sleep proppa bore fest.
Lost did this kind of silly supernatural mystery way better.
Yes this show is derivative, and the fact that it is driven by a former 'Lost' director should give you an idea of what to expect. The reviews seem to have divided viewers down the middle but as a huge fan of 'Lost' and Perrineau I enjoyed the two seasons and can't wait for the third. The show in my opinion didn't set out to emulate the previous creations as even 'Lost' and shows like it were barely original. I think it scores for me in the way it delves into the issues and concept of fear, just like Shayamalan's movie 'the Village' from 2004. I guess we all take different things from shows like this but I would highly recommend it.
All the mystery boxes introduced by this show that haven't been resolved as of May 1 (12 episodes in)
Season 1
1. Why are they stuck in a town that defies laws of physics?
2. What's the deal with the trees and the crows?
3. What are the origins of the monsters? Why do they only come out at night?
4. How/why do the protection stones work?
5. Who is the Boy in White (BiW) that only a few people are able to see?
6. Who was talking to Sara?
7. How/why do Faraway trees work?
8. Where do the animals come from?
9. Why are the trees moving? Or is it the town?
10. Why does Jade keep having hallucinations/visions?
11. Why do the electricity wires go down in the ground?
12. What's the deal with the lighthouse?
13. Who's the guy that they contacted on the radio at the end of the season 1?
14. Victor said it's been a long time since two cars showed up at the same time and it must mean something special. What happened the last time this happened?
15. What dragged Boyd's tent?
16. Victor
17. Why did all the lights blow up in the Colony House?
18. What's with all the spider webs in the woods?
Season 2
19. Does Elgin know anything at all? Why do some people have seizures/visions? (Sara and Elgin)
20. Why do the monsters underground have human items down there?
21. What's the deal with the puppet people keep seeing? Why's Victor scared of it?
22. Who's Martin? Was he speaking the truth? Did he throw the rope?
23. How does Martin (the chained up dude) know about Boyd's wife? What did he transfer to him?
24. What killed Martin? What's with the music box?
25. Did the structure collapse as soon as Boyd stepped out of it, why?
26. Why did a dog lead Boyd to the truck?
It's clear that the writers are just making shit up as they go along and it's either going to get abruptly cancelled or if it somehow manages to keep going will just have a disappointing answer like all mystery box shows.
Oh yeah, sure! Go outside..with those things runnin' around?! You can count me out!
This is basically the same as the outer range. As per usual, in the tradition of american mysteries tv shows, the main plot line is bogged down by uninteresting and boring family drama. The main mystery is still interesting enough that i'll probably watch a season two.
Let's see... town in the middle of nowhere, once you're in you can't get out, trying to live a normal life inside, dangerous creatures wanting to kill you. I liked this better when it was called Wayward Pines.
Like I said, an endless loop of modern trash with no goal.
Very good start, and with a wink to Salem's Lot. Interesting characters and many mysteries.
This could have been sweet. Instead it's the same show as a million others. Formulaic. Let's see. It has the rebellious teenager, the a**h*le, the tough sheriff with an estranged son.... and so on. It's too bad because Perrineau is a great actor and is great in this, but it's just mediocre. It's fun for the first few episodes, then you realized it's the same old s....
This show is my new obsession!
I don’t understand how this show is trending, people really have very low standards these days.
Is the “Lost” trick all over again, Lost the tv show, just throw a bunch of nonsense “mysteries” wich they’ll never explain or make logic of cause in the end they’ll just say “they died and were in limbo, thats why nothing made sense”
But worse than Lost, cause this show has terrible terrible terrible acting and writers. Man, it’s so bad. At least Lost had great actors and great dialogs the first seasons, and they tricked us good with the mysteries, they appeared legit. But this show makes me feel sorry for the “TV fans” that has it trending.
Fell like I'm watching a more mature 'Lost' and I'm here for it.
Please cancel this show, it became terrible.
Second season is shaping up better than season 1. I hope they continue at this pace.
If you take, Lost, wayward pines, the leftovers, salems lot and the walking dead. Put them all in to a mixing bowl you come out with, From. It's excellent so far, yes more questions than answers at this moment in time but that's not a bad thing. We know as much as the characters. Can't wait to see how this season plays out.
It has a mystery close to "Lost" (2004-2010) that is disturbing, but also very boring character relationships that resonate with the last few seasons of "The walking dead" (2010-2022). It wants to be a mix of sci-fi, horror, and post-apocalyptic community story, but fails to develop protagonists who are never compelling enough.
I enjoyed the first 3 episodes and will check this out but this is more a mystery drama than something I'd call horror. They don't set up an atmosphere compared to shows like The Fades or Outcast. When they show stuff the gore is almost childish, it's been 10 years + since the Walking or even Evil Dead spoiled us all. All you get is a few jump scares and I couldn't help but think of that quote "A horror with jump scares is like a stand-up comedian jumping in the crowd to tickle the audience". It's worth giving it a chance, but if you are a horror fan, don't get your hopes up.
Decent through three episodes, but the writing is very poor in some of the scenes.
The premise is great, shades of Lost and Wayward Pines, but the happy family goofing around after a horrible night trapped by monsters is ridiculously out of character.
Update:. The characters, particularly the supposedly responsible adults, seem juvenile and petulant. Nobody acts in a relatable manner or asks the obvious questions. I hope this doesn't degenerate into another Hollywood feeling quest.
The dialog between characters is generic and is constantly making my eyes roll, but the plot is undeniably compelling. Every time an episode ends i wanna see what happens next. It's an interesting concept with unique scenarios abroad. It just moves a little slowly and you have to sit through all the sappy script writing tropes
I can't tell if the acting is bad, or if the script writing is making the actors bad, but the acting is pretty bad. It's not terrible, it's just not convincing.
The best acting is done by whoever plays Donna and Jade, imo
It's giving me Lost series vibes since the first season
Whose idea was it to make the characters dumb this season?
I find this to be one of the most compelling series currently not on Peacock, and there aren't that many. It's a damn good show helmed by a great set of well acted, intriguing characters!
The Greatest Tv Show I have ever seen! it's sooo Good!!! if you haven't seen it you are missing alot, go watch it trust me you won't regret your decision.
I watched 4 episodes and gave up. The first episode was ok, but thereafter bored me as nothing was happening.
From season 2 rated a 6
rated 7-10 i never rate 8 or more i only did that on the walking d that was a 8
This is what lost would have been like if it was shit.
Even the last few seasons of lost weren't this bad.
Show and season 1 rated an 8
There better be answers to all these mysteries.
Honestly, not really worth watching. Reminds me of The Walking Dead and Lost but in a bad way. Watched season 1 and 2 hoping for it to get better, since it is pretty interesting conceptually, but it just got worse.
i hope there will be a third one..
If you liked LOST, this is another good show. Like Gilligan's Island with a twist.
Season 1 (Rating: 7) and Season 2 (Rating: 6) - I'm not really a fan of the "let's make this complicated just to be complicated" shows, and while I much prefer the more straightforward horror leanings of the first season, From is still interesting enough to make me watch that upcoming Season 3. I just hope they have a satisfying payoff in mind.
A failed combination between Lost and Under the Dome. I'm preety sure they had a good idea to begin with, but in a few episodes it was completely gone.
It remains some soft horror thrills with no actual action, just random stuff happening to random people.
I'll try to finish s02, so I can mark it as seen, but it will go in the Never Again list.
I enjoyed the first season. It was slow but interesting enough to keep me watching.
The second season was so frustrating to watch. The pacing is still slow and every episode was just people being upset over one thing or another. There were a few times I wondered why some of the characters didn't just off themselves if they wanted to die so badly or if they didn't believe in what they were seeing.
dont read the other comments. its a fine show i like it
has SO much potential but is frustratingly slow paced and it seems like the writers come up with these mysteries without having any answers for them
This is a really dull series. I left it running in the background. I’ll skip season 3 if there is one.
(Yeah, I know, I stuck it out through all 20 episodes in a binge session… that’s Alanis Morissette ironic)
Okay, I'm late to the show and just finished watching season 1.
I can just imagine the pitch for this show and this is how it would've gone...
'So there's a group of people we just drop in on and this community is caught up in a hole of a town they can't get out of. Then weird stuff happens'.
'Like what?'
'Have you seen Lost? Stuff like that, you know weird ass sh*t'.
'But that's already been done'.
'Yeah, but it's different... Ooooh, and it has Vampires!'
'Okay, and then you have those that talk to and see the dead, with some Alice in Wonderland sh*t going on too.'
'Right... so what keeps the audience coming back?'
'Well obviously those that die come back in memory scenes.'
'Then there's trees, strange trees.'
'And you got some Melrose Place sh*t goin' on too.'
You get the idea, I hope.
it keeps dragging on. It takes to long. scripts and acting are getting worse in season 2.
Viewed the first two episodes, nothing new with this show. Cancelled for me.
:heart:x8
This is a really good series. It is a little bit Lost (2004), a bunch of Under The Dome (2013), a smidge of Persons Unknown (2010), and pinch of Nightmare on Elm Street (1984).
And overall, I like it. I find it intriguing. Can't wait till season 3.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
This is a show where I get the strong feeling the authors have no plan, no greater concept, they just explore and make things up as they go. Which you can do, but they obviously can’t.
This is bad because it will end up in plotholes and unresolvable questions.
Also, if you pay attention, you recognise how something is constructed just to lure you in and the resolution will be weak at best. Or build a cheap storyline, like, say, stabbing someone by accident in the dumbest way possible just to build a story. . twice!!
It’s a shame, because it really is one of the better shows out there at the moment.
Sure, it is heavily inspired by lost and anything from king, especially under the dome. but unlike lost, the characters don’t look like mint condition Mattel figures and it lacks the stupidity from „under the dome“ (the dome wants me to do this, the dome wants me to do that…). Sorry, kings writing is great, but the screen adaptions are mostly unwatchable.
I like the slows pace, the tone, the characters and it’s focus on the community. But the more I learn about it, the more disappointed I get, because it’s just not that interesting.
They touch too many topics and genres without real commitment so it’s mostly superficial. In “Lost“ we had 24 episodes per season with multiple storylines and lots of time to build on it. But the 10 episode trend nowadays they should make more quality content with more time to write and this is just not happening here. Too many characters, too many stuff going on, this is more bite than the writers can chew . Drop half of it and make the story better, because this show has potential, but sadly it’s on its way down.
Have watched the 1st 2 episodes and what a dreadfully slow paced series. Couldn’t wait for the 2nd episode to finish. It’s a good night from me. Avoid at all costs.
Very good show first and second season.
The plot has more holes than a cheese grater. Speaking of cheese, that is where you will find the dialogue sandwiched between. It is the worst thing I have seen from apple TV, yet somehow stuck to the end of season 2. Did they use ChatGPT to write the script? From? More like Why.
i would say watch it , but know this season 1 was good full of content ... and season 2 all went to hell , nothing they just kept spinning and lost
im a sucker for these types of show but damn this is a near 9\10!
I need the next season NOW!!!!!!!!
One of my favorite shows right now. I have been obsessed with this show since episode 1 and it was as till a hidden gem. It reminds me of the show Siberia and Lost combined. I do wish season 2 had a bit more excitement but overall I am still stoked about this show.
Great, greater, greatest. Wow. What a great and terrifying show. Can’t wait for season 3.
I liked the "side boob" episode...
cant wait for season 3 pls come soon
There’s barely any brown ppl why you killing them all off specifically
Fantastic!! Can’t wait for the next episode
It’s sad they have to include this demonic woke BS in all these shows it’s sickening
I think this is the show with the most number of bad actors ever. The kid is the best. He is like Marlon Brando compare to the others... but they are the right color so the creators are happy.
5/10 MEH
Been there done that and it’s been done a lot better then this……
It’s not even entertaining…..
The first few episodes gave us some nice jump moments, but after that it just became mundane and a yawn fest…….
looks a bit like tv show lost..i like it
OMG Lost on a camping trip, I like the trippy, but if it starts being religious I'm out, at least the Matrix didn't make it so obvious.
The three first episodes were very good and promising. Unfortunately, it all went downhill after that, and we got a season non-finale, where very little happened. It's like they have forgotten how a "season" works, where you solve something at the end, and maybe introduce the "mystery" for the next one.
loved this can't wait for season 2
As a fan of “Lost,” I was intrigued when I heard that some of the same people were involved in the new EPIX series “From.” Unfortunately, the show doesn’t live up to the expectations set by “Lost.” While it starts off incredibly promising and has a unique feel, the lazy writing and subpar acting hold it back as the season progresses.
The unforgiving gore and genuine horror element that the show first offers are among its most distinctive features, but even these begin to wear thin as the season progresses. By the time I finished the first season, I couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed.
Although a second season is in the works, “From” barely does enough to keep me returning for more. I would probably tell my past self not to watch it if I could go back in time.
Even though I’m drawn in by the mystery, I’m worried about the show’s future. The writing is reminiscent of J.J. Abrams; the writers are adding mysteries at whim with no idea how to resolve them. Intriguing at first, but the poor writing soon began to sour the experience.
If you enjoy mysteries, you might want to give “From” a shot, but be aware that it features subpar acting and a superfluous plot that will make you lament the wasted opportunities. It’s far from bad, but it’s also not particularly noteworthy given the calibre of television we’ve been spoilt by in 2022.
[From] - Season One: 6.6/10 (Fair)
It’s like Lost meets Walking Dead. If you like shows that confuse the hell out of you, you’ll love this. Highly recommend!
So, if there is a lighthouse, then it's an island.
Not Bad. Not bad at all. Surprisingly. Looking forward to S2
I was a bit skeptical at first but couldn't stop watching.
I really enjoyed this show!
Hopefully they make more seasons of this. It kind of like the show “Lost”, but a horror version instead.
I'M FROM-PILLED!!!
FROM is extremely GOATED. Basically, what would happen if we just made LOST again, but everything was a little worse? I'll tell you what'd happen. You'd have a Top Five TV Show of 2022 on your hands! Love Season 1, cannot wait for more FROM!!!
JACK BENDER GANG WE EATIN'!!!!
I liked it. It reminds me of the first seasons of Lost when it was good.

What a curious storyline!
If you haven't watched this show yet, please watch it. I highly recommend it.
