At least they don’t have to build a new throne now that Bran is king.
So Game of Thrones is musical chairs and the guy who wins is the one who was sitting the whole time
YOU get a kingdom! YOU get a kingdom! And YOU get a kingdom!
What a great ending for the entire show! Love the ending which Danni got. It had to be done, couldn't have been done otherwise. Poetic!
Booooooooooooo! Booooooo! throws vegetables at TV and hissing in Peasantry
What a wonderful ending to an 8 year journey. I am very pleased with it :D
Apart from the final stretch that led to the events of the previous episode, I wouldn't change a thing. It was the perfect ending to a great show - for me, one of the greatest.
It's sad to see it go but damn, it was worth every minute spent watching it as well as discussing it.
Hopefully at least one of the spin-offs will come to life a few years down the road and if they manage to capture even a glimpse of the feeling that this one had, it'll be pure nostalgia.
Worst season ever... this will make Lost final look a masterclass
And sadly this great tv show has come to an end
I'm glad this is almost over
It seems like you either hated or loved this series finale. I thought it was just... okay?! Am I allowed to say it was okay?
This may have been the most boring tv episode I have ever watched. This season was like, ok, we don't want to do this show anymore lets wrap it up as quick as possible, but the last episode lets just have everyone sit around and talk.
Lol this was terrible and makes the show not fit for a re-watch
This season has been so stupid and self-indulgent thank god it's finally over.
Laughably poor ending. Incredibly disappointing ending to an otherwise great show.
That ending was so disappointing, I cannot even describe with words the letdown. I'm just happy is over, and we got at least closure. Time to move on to other shows, and forget this season ever happen.
Finally dumb&dumbers "how to ruin Martins great work" ended.
Worst episode in TV History. Cannot be redeemed in any way or shape. everything after Danny's speech is complete nonsense and undoes everything since the premier.
Tommy Wiseau could have done it better, surely. Bollocks.....
Ruined the show with this final season.
what the fuck happened to dothraki lol
This is the worst shit I've ever seen. And, boy, I've seen loads of shitty tv!
Of all the possible endings they chose the lamest one.
Please GRRM, if you ever get to finishing the books please do better.
Such an anticlimactic and disappointing ending
I CANNOT BELIEVE SAM SURVIVED THE SERIES. I have been scared for him every minute of every episode of every season. Ah, my beloved. You living happily ever after is the best gift this show has given me. Farewell, Samwell Tarly. The best, the greatest, consistently most honorable, most kind, and most brave character in the show. I will miss you so much. :frowning2:
Anyways. It ended how I’ve always said it should end. The Iron Throne destroyed because no one was really worthy of it. The twist of Bran as King was something I hadn’t thought of but appreciate greatly. Not the best season, but a good and satisfying finale.
I have no words, such and huge treason for a great history, I feel so saddened :disappointed:
They really did it. They came up with an ending that is actually worse than Dexter’s. Congratulations, what an achievement!
I'm so happy it's over. I don't ever wanna come back to this show. Biggest disappointment of my entire life. Goodbye forever.
what a terrible way to end a a show...
And Now My Watch Is Ended!
Bran allowed Dany to burn down the city so they could rebuild it to be Westerosi with Disabilities Act compliant!
The only twinge I felt was for Brienne writing in the book (that survived a massive conflagration) for Jaime. The jokes weren't funny, the end was unsatisfying and nonsensical, and the plot was idiotic.
Why? No wonder Emilia Clarke gagged and Kit Harrington said he found it disappointing.
They had to choose Bran because they needed a King who has his own chair.
R.I.P. Iron Throne, you turned everyone to shit anyway.
The North won't kneel again... not even to Ned Stark's Trueborn son and a lifelong Northerner?
Shut the fuck up, Sansa!
The look of pure happiness when Jon hugged Ghost was everything.
If this ends in a cliffhanger, I'm done with any other show these writers work on.
I just want to add that I hope D&D will never write again. They can produce whatever they want, but they are terrible writers.
Terrible ending to the greatest show of all time.
it's over... for good or bad, but all the good moments this show brought me will be unforgettables
spend 7 seasons building up characters to dump them in the toilet in a botched 8th season. Pure garbage. I can imagine the writers in a room trying to figure out how to do the complete opposite of what people expect instead of a logical conclusion.
Garbage of a season, garbage of an ending.
To quote the one true queen, RuPaul:
"Meh."
Although this season we a huge let down, but they did manage to give it an actually decent ending.
It was technically amazing and all the actors did a fantastic job.
and the scene betwee Jon and Tyrion was amazing
They actually did manage to give us something "bittersweet"
This episode was good, Not Great .. just good.
:face_with_symbols_over_mouth: the episode kept going on and on until it was just a joke
Didn't go the way I expected. Since the dragon didn't eat Jon I thought for sure he'd be king. I can live with the way it all went down.
this is complete and utter garbage thanks for nothing d&d
Amazing episode and ending!!! Best series ever, I’m very happy with everything.
I wish there were negative numbers for rating this episode. There's disappointment, disbelief, then unadulterated anger at the writers for ending this great show with such a heaping pile of dog sh*t. I hope to God that GRRM completes the series so I can see the actual way we get to the true ending.
I like how Arya trained to become an assassin for two seasons, had the prophecy of killing someone with brown eyes, blue eyes and green eyes, then decided not to kill green-eyed Cersei because of one sentence said by the Hound and wasn't much interested in killing green-eyed Daenerys only to become Dora the Explorer in the end. How satisfying.
What a way to kill a series like that. As a book reader I will be waiting for TWoW, well, being waiting for 6 years by now.
A couple of touching scenes but the rest... TO THE TOILET Y'ALL.
ok that was the stupidest, most boring series finale ive ever seen. the only thing i liked was sansa and aryas endings, brienne writing about jaime and kinda the fact that bran became the new king. the rest really gave me NOTHING
Can't believe its nearly over, best show ever!
Please, never ever make a TV show about a series of books that isn't finished yet.
I’m stumped.
I thought I’d hate the season and the finale, just like almost everyone is doing, but I thought it was perfect. Incredible last episode.
The end sequence, when Jon comes to a certain realisation, is something I unexpectedly smiled at. I loved it.
I don’t understand how the “writing was crappy”, as folks are saying; because it was magnificent. This is what the entire series was made for: an unexpected turn, just as GRRM wanted.
How can anyone say character development was lost when it was everything?!
I hope the spin-off shows us Arya’s adventures in the West!
I feel extremely disappointed...
Well that was dissappointing :(
I truly can imagine how the writes sat together and said: "Hey, we have another 1.5h left to fill, how can we make this as boring as possible¿ We don't want fans to crave for another episode."
Lunch bag letdown. SO many possible endings yet what they came up with was probably the least interesting, least exciting , and most disappointing ending of a tv series that I have ever seen. Shame on the writers and producers for wasting our time.
Boy oh boy. I'm speechless. This was so bad, on every level. The lack of caring for Daenerys and the way they treated her was despicable. The way they killed her also instead of looking part of the story felt like the writers are symbolically killing their story.
Big disappointment, what could have been, if they didn't rushed things up? Guess we'll never know...
the story is so bad. it almost looks like made by Netflix.
sorry people.. i am too sad to vote 10 this episode, still can't belive GOT is ended -_-
overall a good end..
I liked this ending, it feels like what G.R.R. Martin would've done, but I didn't like how they got there in the last season.
Emilia Clarke needed to know since her character set foot on Westeros about how this would end, so she can slowly make the transition.
Ignoring the other dumb decisions they've made in Season 8, this is still the best tv show I've ever watched.
You know who TRULY won the Game of Thrones? Those who stopped watching after Sansa got raped.
Anyways, WATCH RIVERDALE
meh meh meh meh meh
1 point for the Queen in the North
It was a good episode.I don't know why but I shed a tear during Drogon reacting to Danny's death. If they had gone with 10 Episodes it would have been much better at pacing.
It was a awesome journey. Like ending of every other major show people are complaining. Yeah there are genuine reasons too but it wasn't so bad(like dexter bad).
Thank god this is over now... The only parts that were actually good was Jon's interaction with Ghost and Sansa becoming the Queen of The North.
And now our watch has ended
.
.
It's done, we have a new King and Queen.
(I'm not so happy about it, but that's what we have.)
This is the end of an era, so much memories...
Thanks for everything!
Jon snow reunited with ghost! Can't think of a better way of ending this show..
This ending couldn’t have been more perfect. So emotional, so well prepared and so so beautifully shot. The Iron Throne got us the answers we needed to close this series and more. I’m sure George is incredibly proud. When the big moment came for my all time favorite character and role model, I wasn’t even in shock or sad, because it’s that good and well written. The moment that truly got me though is when Drogon picked up his mother and flew away. Yeah, there were tears, there was laughter and indeed, the ending is bittersweet. I couldn’t be more grateful to have had this show in my life, and I will never stop rewatching this. Me nem nesa.
So at last we reached the end of this epic tale of ice and fire. I must say I did like the ending even though it wasn't perfect. Sure the whole season was way to short and rushed but overall they did a good job bringing it to the end. We all knew that GoT never would get its fairy tale ending but that it would be bittersweet and that it definitely was. Anyways the series finale was good and got one of the best CGI the show ever did. I could watch Drogon scenes the whole day.
Fact is I'm very sad this show is over and I guess it won't be that soon that another show of this caliber will come around.
To AALLL the people complaining... George R.R. Martin told D&D how the show/books would end and it didn't disappoint!!! (I actually cried my eyes dry) :'(
So please stop thinking that there will be a more "beautiful" ending in the books (If we actually get those).
So what, your beautiful theories all thorn into pieces... come on!!!
And why should we think "we" could "write" a better ending than the one who actually is GRRM...
So stop throwing those tomatoes and appreciate how magical this ride was.
After last week i was so done with GoT that i couldn't really care how it ended. But I am happy i started the final watch. Every bit of how much i hated last week episode is every bit i love this week and the series finale. Of course you can't make everyone happy but i'm pleased with how they ended things. And we finally got the well deserved cuddle of Jon and Ghost!
(Not so) Eagerly waiting for West of Westeros: The Spin-off.
Bad bad bad... Why end of season is very bad??!!
sansa queen in the north <3 but everything else.. i can't read suddenly i don't know
Fingers crossed for a great ending...
For years I have been listening to people say how bad the series finale of GoT is, and just now, as I finish the very last episode, a few years after the show ended, I guarentee you, it is THAT BAD. I loved the show, and that's why I get so frustated, it's not fair, I feel robbed. I do like some parts of it, but generally speaking, this is one of the worst series finales I ever watched.
I still don't know if I liked it or not. I just finished it, this time the whole series in a row, and still don't know what I expected. I don't even know which number to choose to evaluate this episode. I guess the season was too fast and they did not develop everything correctly but the ending may be good. I don't know. I think I need to watch it again... and again... and again.
meh. Jon made the most difficult of decisions and yet he just got a below "okay" ending. The Starks are all separated, going their own ways.. I just feel like this series' ending was rushed, no time to absorb things that are happening.
It's not a perfect ending. But quoteing Bran: "Everything were excatly how they were supposed to be."
Bran, Kind of the mobile throne
when the song of ice and fire book came out - that was the moment this show jumped the shark. Unbelievable. It looked more like a joke scene to put on the dvd extras. I can’t believe the actors took it seriously and it was actually part of the show. One of many reasons this last episode was beyond terrible.
The only thing that's frustrating is that the series is over !!! As for the end itself if nothing else this series proved to be anything other than predictable !!!
After the desaster of The Bells, this is the best they could’ve come up with. I liked it, Peter Dinklage stole the show once again.
Bran's Throne is mobile.
Taken in isolation where the final season is concerned, this was a solid finale. Once I set aside the rushed nature of some things in earlier episodes by pretending that this was episode ten of the season instead of episode six, I was able to appreciate most of it.
Having said that, there has never been a book or a TV show or a movie where every reader or viewer was happy with the way that everything ended, and that probably goes double or triple for adaptations. Where TV is concerned, I'm beginning to think that shows that are cancelled without warning are the lucky ones, at least for the writers. Sure, fans might be angry about a cliffhanger that goes unresolved because of Those Dang Suits At Corporate, but that seems to pale in comparison to the anger that gets vented when the writers choose to wrap things up in ways that some fans don't like.
The writers were in a hurry and wanted to finish it quickly!! The best series of history till now had the worst ending ever. Maybe they wanted to tell a message that power changes people and people will do differently when they take the power so do not get killed for making someone the governor. I think so but we hadn't watch this show to get a message!! Another season could complete this by writing a longer story, a bigger war between dead and alive, a better death for night king, better war between north and capital and so. However the show has been finished and talking do not make any changes. By the way 20/may is my birthday and GOT has been finished after 8 years exactly on my birthday.
I feel like this finale will be one of the most controversial on television. Some will say was perfect, others will say that butchered the story arcs.
I give it a 9 only by ignoring that the other seasons exist, because without them it was a really amazing and kinda fulfilling ending.
However, those seasons exist... Well, I'll be watching the prequels.
Disappointing ending... It feels as if they just tried to tie up loose ends quickly.
I for one, liked it and founded it satisfying shrugs
Let's just forget this ever happened. #LostAgain
This last episode is actually decent. This and the very first episode of the season are the only ones i like. Good pacing, good dialogues and emotions. I do not agree with the way they handled Dany but her last scene with Jon Snow was very emotional indeed. And both actors did a very good job on conveying their respective character’s expressions and emotions. Emilia Clarke really is an awesome Daenerys. I actually did not care for her character the first two season but they did a good job and developing her later on to become my favorite only to be dumped like this sigh /cry. Buuut good job to all actor and actresses as well as everyone involved in this TV series. Thanks for all the wonderful entertainment and memories you created and shared with us. Bye Daenerys Targeryn, the real :crown: :grinning:
And now what? WHAT I WILL DO WITH MY LIFE?
The finale feels like the fate of John.
I'm neither happy, nor totally pissed off.
I never liked John that much, so I'm not too sad about him being sent back to the Nights Watch.
I still detest Daenerys downfall though. I don't believe that someone can believe liberating equals burning them. Tyrants might swear that they are liberating people, but I believe they know exactly what they are doing.
The only good coming out of it is Arya (whom I opposed to Maisie still like) going into the uncharted West.
And to add to the pain, the North instead of recognizing that unity makes strong does what? It becomes independant. Reminds me of the impending brexit. There are people who want it, but it is still bad for everyone...
The difference between the writing has been notorious. The directors D&D don't have the writing skill of GRRM and we can't expect the show to maintain the level that it used to be known for. This was not the hyped end we would have expected some years ago, but it isn't the worse this season has gave us, and they're clearly opening space for the future side series that are coming, and not really concluding this show.
I'm disappointed but I wasn't really expecting great things anymore. So lets see how Arya the explorer goes... And hope that GRRM creates a better story in the books (he'll certainly deliver).
I LIKE IT... an that's it, hope someone around here agrees with me
So… I guess that this is the "bittersweet" feeling George Martin was talking about. Man, I'm not quite sure how I feel right now. But I guess this finale will be (mostly) the real end. Many characters didn't get what they really deserved.
Holy hell, did Jon get shafted or what? Bran is horrible he seen everything and made himself King. Season 8 is horrible. Wow if I can count on anything with HBO they don't know how to make series finales.
Bruh
(This review needs to be at least five words.)
And now my watch has ended.
For the past few years I always heard everyone saying it has a bad ending, but I don't see it that way, everything had to happen in the way it did.
I think it was the perfect ending that the show needed. But maybe it just happened too soon
If you have sympathy for the Lannisters, just know, you're the reason that oppression exists in this world. You're the reason that people are beaten, tortured, sexually assaulted, raped, and murdered. It's b/c, you feel this faux sympathy for their oppressors. It's not real sympathy; it's only lip-service, b/c real sympathy involves action to support those in need of assistance. Sympathy comes in finite supplies and should be reserved for those being oppressed, not those oppressing. The fact that the writers felt the need to make the death of the Lannisters a sympathetic moment says that they're really a danger to society, b/c they found good qualities in violent, sadistic, murderous, torturous subhumans. If you find good qualities in those like that, there's something very, very wrong w/ you. To listen to that lying, conniving, cowardly mutt, Tyrion Lannister, moralize was sickening.
And, this was the single worst episode I'd ever had the displeasure of watching to end a series. What a pile of shit. The writers and showrunners should never work in television or film again.

Bran: I can never be Lord of Winterfell, I can never be Lord of anything, I'm the Three-eyed Raven.
Also Bran: I'm the King.
