Announcing their return with a surprise gig at the tiny Cheese and Grain in Frome in January, The Foo Fighters finally headlined the Pyramid on the Saturday, with Radiohead taking Friday (after announcing their slot by painting a giant version of their logo in front of the Pyramid Stage in Oct 2016) and Ed Sheeran closing proceedings on Sunday. Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn’s Saturday afternoon speech also made the headlines.

Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire return to Glastonbury and make everybody DANCE.

BBC Two's coverage of the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts in Pilton continues. Opening up the show, Mark Radcliffe and Lauren Laverne set the scene and look back over Radiohead's history with the festival and then hand to Jo Whiley who is in prime position for when they take to the world-famous Pyramid Stage.

It's been 23 years since the band's debut at the festival and two decades since their epic headline rain-sodden performance back in 1997, and with a second headline slot in 2003 along with a surprise performance in 2010, the band have kept their faces familiar at Worthy Farm. Now, they are back once more to their spiritual home to headline for the third time. Expect a lengthy and legendary performance from Oxfordshire's finest five-piece.

Following Radiohead's performance, Jo and Mark reflect on the band's set and look back at some of the other artists that have played on day one along with an acoustic performance or two.

Mark Radcliffe and Alice Levine introduce highlights from two contrasting artists performing on the Pyramid Stage on day one of the Glastonbury Festival. Starting off with Glastonbury debutant, legendary US singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson, who performs some of his classic hits. Kris is followed by Brighton riff-tastic duo Royal Blood, who are fast becoming festival favourites following the success of their debut back in 2014, and no doubt more and bigger success is on the cards with the release of their much anticipated second album How Did We Get So Dark.

Following Barry Gibb's performance, another legend takes to the Pyramid Stage in the shape of Nile Rodgers and his band Chic, with more songs to surely make the Pyramid Stage crowd feel like they are in one great big disco, expect a mirrorball to appear from the sky!
