god and satan united to prepare a special place in hell for whoever cancelled this show
fuck netflix.
after 1st season I was cautiously optimistic and a bit bored but boyyyyy, 2nd season is a-ma-zing! the acting is spectacular (Maron, Brie, Gilpin, oh god), the characters are slowly but surely developed, wrestling is honestly entertaining, can't wait for season 3! (if it doesn't get renewed I WILL RIOT)
Netflix has reversed it's previous renewal decision and, as of today, has now officially cancelled Glow - there will be no season 4 series conclusion
im not a wrestling fan nor did i grow up watching the real GLOW, but i really enjoyed this show - it was cheesy and fun, emotional and honest, the actors had great chemistry. it's a real disappointment that Netflix didnt give this the series finale it deserved and the fans were initially promised.
It’s a shame season 4 wasn’t completed after being interrupted due to the covid pandemic.
When I started watching this show I thought this going to be a lighthearted comedy about cute girls in leotards. Boy, I was wrong. So wrong. I mean “GLOW” still delivers tons of intelligent humor but also got this other quality, to smuggle drama alongside. This show is written so good that there was never a dull moment or character for me. Also, it got one of the best soundtrack (hey, it’s the 80’s). I fell in love with this show almost immediately and stay with it until the very end - through laughs and tears (yes, tears and I’m not ashamed of them ;)). So, season 3 - I’m waiting!
I enjoyed Season 1 for the most part.. enough to get me to watch Season 2. I am very glad I did, Season 2 was absolutely superb. It took everything good about season 1 and made it better. Brie and Moran were amazing all season long. The transformation of Moran's character was 10/10.
A show with an all-female cast that isnt just about sex? its a fucking miracle. I actually enjoyed this. The comedy was solid, all of the women had their own unique personalities and were fun to watch, plus the whole concept of the show is very interesting and makes you actually want to whitness their journey from rags to riches.
Started because of Annie's Boobs, stayed for the show. Perfect work!
i want betty gilpin to murder me
I am a pacifist but if I ever meet the person who cancelled this gem, they're gonna get a solid kick in the teeth
I loved it. Hope I see this amazing cast in other, even bigger projects (especially Betty Gilpin who in the third season was absolutely amazing).
I honestly find this painfully mediocre and shallow. Time waster and an indifferent one. Some good performances sure but deep as a napkin.
Trashy yet daring and especially cringeworthy at the figthing parts. But charming in the process.
With many controversial topics, sideplots and references giving it a certain touch of self-irony.
Great variety of characters and amazing performances by Alison Brie (Ruth) and Marc Maron (Sam).
Nonetheless weak compared to the "big players" on Netflix.
Damn it! Love this show. So different from all the shows that i'd watch my entire life. You know if it's good if you binge watch the whole season in one day.
What a great show, it´s weird, crazy, funny, but it also touches on important subjects. I really like the first half of the season but it picks up in the second half even more. Awesome job from the cast, playing unusual characters with interesting backstories (also leading into some awkward situations).
This was just fantastic. What's even more fantastic is that it only gets better each season. Now, I need Netflix to get their shit together and stop cancelling awesome stuff. Also people need to start watching fantastic stuff so it doesn't get cancelled.
Yes, it's weird and a bit out there (especially for someone that has not grown up with the whole MMA or whatever fighting) and at first, you're really considering whether you should stick out and watch a few more episodes, but please DO.
The actresses are fantastic, the characters are fantastic, every tiny bit of secondary plot is worth it. Nothing's too much in this show. It's bright with kickass music, dark and sad and it just gets weird and awkward the next second. Just watch and you'll love it!
personally i think ruth and debbie should kiss. that would solve a lot of conflict
I thought season 2 was so much better than season 1.. try stick with it and you will enjoy it
Netflix confirmed season 3 of Glow has been ordered. No release date yet but looking forward to see this new season. Season 1 was good, season 2 was awesome. Season 3 may be legendary!
Loved it...hope for a 2nd season
Wow! I had so much fun watching it!
I love all the characters and the way they interact with each other; it's rare to get so many well-written female characters in one show. I hope Netflix renews it soon!
I wanna see this! I was a fan of the original program, back in the day!

Wow. GLOW is such a fantastic show with a lot of unexpected depth to it. I didn't know what to really expect (other than Alison Brie wrestling other women) after just skimming some reviews online and trying not to spoil myself, but it was very well made dealing with a myriad of different social issues and themes. I never thought that so much drama and intrigue could come out of making a female wrestling league/show.
There are definitely a decent amount of feminism and SJW vibes, which can usually turn me off to a show/movie if taken overboard. However, I thought the tone of the show struck a very nice balance to those themes with wisely timed comedic dialogue and chose not to go too overboard on stating some of the "obvious". I really liked the emphasized theme of "things don't just happen; people make choices" that is expanded upon. There are some times you can't just blame society and everyone else for everything, and at times, you have to just take some responsibility yourself.
Alison Brie did a great job as the lead in this one, and hit the humorous parts quite well. She definitely doesn't play the typical spunky girl who never gets down in order to overcome all obstacles in this one. Lots of bad shit happens to her constantly in this show (some of it self-inflicted), and she has to eventually deal with the consequences. Some are dealt with better than others. She really developed her character throughout the course of this season, but she never really crossed into that "totally likeable" realm for me.
However, this is alright because the other supporting characters in GLOW were fantastic in their roles as well. I was pleasantly surprised that the show was really able to flesh out almost every single character/female wrestler introduced and give them all some plot lines and conflict to overcome (even Sheila the wolf girl!!). My favorite girl/wrestler was probably definitely Debbie, played by Betty Gilpin. She is just badass and goes totally YOLO at times. The end of episode 1 was just pure f'n gold. I could watch that entire scene over and over again. It was so well acted out between Alison Brie and herself. I also really enjoyed Marc Maron's character, the director Sam Sylvia, who adds a ton of crass humor into all the dialogue that he's given. He could have just mailed it in as the sleazy coke'd out director, but he completely owns the role and adds so much to the show.
Anyway, I really enjoyed GLOW and I'm hoping for confirmation of a second season ASAP because the creators definitely left a few loose-ends hanging and we still have a lot more potential story to unfold. Looks like Netflix has another hit on their hands. Watch/binge it if you can at least before GoT owns all our lives starting in July.
