Daaaaamn, this episode is terrific. Gordon is getting savvier, but he still has much to learn. Cobblepot wants to be total bros with you, and you just coldly and rudely rejects him? Wtf? First of all, until you make Gotham into your utopia of law and order, you, as a cop, is going have to bend some rules and stray from the path of justice (I'm eye-rolling even typing this) occasionally. So you didn't like the method Cobblepot used in helping you bring that murdering detective two episodes back? Well you should have known a criminal isn't going to use due process to get information. Second, Cobblepot's attitude can turn on a dime; it's just not worth the trouble and danger to provoke him unnecessarily.
Maroni has better watch his back, because by both scaring and angering Cobblepot, he's going to make sure he gets to you before you do him in.
Good job unnecessarily curing you son of fear Mr. Crane, I'm sure his now constant screaming are just minor side effects. Speaking of which, this show's imagining of Jonathan Crane's origin story trigger is pretty great.
