not really impressed by this show anymore nor this season. its more of the same old same old, yet Fox decides its worthy of another season of probably boring the same, bring back all the ones they killed today. They should've let it stop here so people can take their own minds and then let the awesome Dark Knight movies take it over
Everything in this episode was intens and crazy! This might even be my favorite episode of the show so far. I was shocked to see Oswald shoot Butch, I truly didn't see that coming and while I am sad to see Butch go (again and maybe even for real this time) it was nice to see Oswald getting back to his true nature because he was a little lost on that after the whole love thing with Ed. Also, speaking of Ed, the stabbing between him and Lee, tragic and fitting, can't wait how Hugo will 'fix' them.
And to top it of, the ending, Bruce and Jim standing by that big light, foreshadowing what's to come, goosebumps. I can't wait to see what will happen in the next (and sadly final) season.
That ending with Nygma & Lee was just rubbish.
This show has become so bad. Almost every villain is terribly portrayed. Jeremiah is so poorly acted and such a poor watered down copy of the Joker that it is pitiful. I am so glad there is only one season left, just not sure I am going to watch it.
The problem with this show is that anytime something eventful happens, it doesn't really feel that impactful. How many times can we see criminals escape from the GCPD? How many times can characters be shot only to be fine. How many times can characters be killed or thought to be dead, only to then come back? The first season of this show was so good because everything was just happening for the first time. But by the time we were half way through season 2, we had already seen so many characters escape death countless times and the GCPD be taken over multiple times too.
I really like this show, but at the same time I despise it. There are lots of good little pieces, but nothing works out well overall. So much of it is just laughable. The last few epsidodes have been a bit better than anything since season 1/2, but I'm not confident it will continue into season 5.
I just hope season 5 can go back to its roots and be better.
Pretty good episode - right until the explosions. Terribly awful from that moment, not a single salvageable scene: Ed and Lee (stab, stab... kiss? what the...), Bruce Alfred and Selina (I will come back and find you, I promise!! Not that it will be too difficult, considering we share the same house...), Gordon and Coronel Mr. Arrest Them All, Penguin Butch and Tabby, Strange and his terrible acting, all the villains, Barbara and the shadowettes, Gordon and Bruce final speech... What a streak!!!
Now, how on Earth am I supposed to rate this? Half a 7/10 for the first part, and half a -8/10 for the punishment?

Pretty solid finale for a wonderful season. I'm really happy we get to see another season - it will be shorter and there is a long wait involved, but it gives the writers an opportunity to finish it properly nonetheless.
The highlight of the season (and possibly the whole show for me) was Cameron Monaghan's performance, both as Jerome and Jeremiah. I was a bit unsure when the "change" to Jeremiah was made, I think a lot of us fans had a soft spot for Jerome, but Jeremiah quickly became just as memorable in my head, with such a threatening presence on screen. As far as I know, the writers said neither of the two are the actual Joker (unless they said more I'm unaware off). I wonder if yet another version of the "Monaghan" Joker could be the real deal, I've been thinking of this ever since the "three soups" episode - could it be a reference to the "three Jokers" of the comics?
By contrast, the least interesting story this season I felt was Ra's al Ghul, particularly all that involved his relationship with Barbara, and just the Barbara character overall (though I think the Sirens as established in the end could be pretty cool). Those bits always felt like fillers for me, just like in this episode - even though Ra's is instrumental in not only Bruce's story but also Jeremiah now, I find his moments in Gotham so uninteresting. I feel more or less the same about Lee/Nygma, that just went nowhere... sort of drags the episode down a little.
It sucks that Butch died - based on some articles with Drew Powell (the actor) he isn't coming back. Of course, with Hugo Strange in the mix there's no such thing as a permanent death, I guess we'll only find out then. The funny thing about it is, immediately before Penguin shot him, I kept feeling Penguin was being too good/collaborative and thought on how "non villain" he is as we near the end... but then he did it. Penguin is Penguin after all, which is good.
The end felt very "Arkham City" (the videogame), with chaos as the villains take over. Seeing Gordon and Bruce in that rooftop was pretty cool - Bruce may not be Batman just yet, but he has come a long way. A lot of the negative criticism I see about the show tends to be about how the villains are becoming full villains... while Bruce is not even an adult yet. Personally, I always felt like this is "another story" - a prequel, yes, but of something else as a multiverse type thing, allowing the writers to treat the origins of these characters creatively even though Bruce is still a kid.
Well, time to wait now. In 2019 we shall see the Bat... and also... Man-Bat???
