Felt like Grey's again. Not all the way there but the heart is back. Still took much Owen for my liking but hey ho
First episode after the sad announcement regarding Justin Chamber's sudden departure and unfortunately, I couldn't care less about whatever plot is going on.
If anyone's still asking the question "what's the point of Grey's Anatomy, sixteen seasons in?" or, perhaps more bluntly "why is that thing still on the air?", showing them Chandra Wilson's work in this episode should clear up any doubts. Especially her scene with James Pickens Jr. in the OR after the surgery. It's remarkable that an actor is still able to find such places to go with a character, after all this time, and that the show is able to allow her to. I still think Station 19 is the best Shondaland show at the moment, but still, Grey's longevity lends it a depth and a resonance that's simply not available to any other show on at the moment.
I kind of expected more from the crossover, especially the Grey's part. Either way, the new doc is quickly growing on me and hate me all you want but I really like him for Mer. DeLuca kind of blew it for me and
I actually think putting him back with Maggie would be a good move. I can see that happening.
Oh and Schmitt
He nearly gave me a heart attack! So glad he's okay. I grew to love him and I'm rooting for him. Helm doesn't deserve that friendship in my opinion, after the way they treated Schmitt and I'm even a little bit upset that she didn't, you know, die. Sorry. I just don't like her drooling over Mer all the frickin' time.
Decent episode, good enough crossover but I could do without Station 19 in the future.
