Love and happines flowers in Östra Nöbberup! The vicar Albin and the deacon Fanny is getting married. But Fanny is offered a new exciting job abroad and Albin is forced to hire the work-shy Ylva.
The new deacon Ylva proves herself to be unsuitable for working with the parish's children groups and Albin is forced to step in, which shows itself to be quite a handful. One child is a copy of Jan and some questions arise about whether he could be the father.
A new funeral director makes Albin see just how corrupt Östra Nöbberup is and how favors are traded all over the place. In his zeal to change these habits he instead gets the entire community turned against him. Meanwhile, Ylva has a hard time believing that Jan is a virgin and starts digging around.
The worst thing that could happen to a vicar happens to Ablin when he starts to lose faith. And if that wasn't bad enough, the only one that can save him is his colleague and workplace nemesis Jan. Jan lectures Ylva about the errors of her ways when she reads today's horroscopes, but accidentally gives her a new idea of how to broaden her paycheck.
A visit from a fellow priest from Östra Nöbberup's twinned parish in Kenya makes Albin miss his, according to himself, more adventurous days and an idéa is born. The idea is to trade workplaces with each other! Meanwhile, Jan is standing in front of one of the biggest challenges in his life, his first date with his childhood love Lisa.
The number of applicants to join this year's confirmation class is down to zero in the parish, and this gets Albin to do the mistake of trying to think outside of the box and more like today's youth. While he tries to better the church's reputation among the kids, who are more interested in the communion wine, Ylva tries to get the pictures of the staff on the webpage more up do date.
Jan has a dilemma when Viktor, an old friend of the family, is getting married to a woman when he is obviously gay. Albin agrees to enter the election of the new bishop when the diocese is in dire need of opposing candidates to make it look like a real election, but to his surprise losing is way more difficult than he thought.
Albin goes all in to try to win the election to become the next bishop. Jan sees his chance to finally getting rid of Albin and becoming the vicar himself in Östra Nöbberup, and takes on the role as Albin's campaign manager. Meanwhile Lisa does not want to get married to Jan until she knows they are compatible in bed.
