That's what I was afraid of: an episode dedicated to the unnecessary side storyline of madrigal. Honestly, it neither is interesting nor useful in any way.
After the previous episode, this is the epitome of a buzzkill.

We get a pretty fantastic episode on what the show should be about - Master Chief. Then we get this tripe.
Could easily lose these dreadful side characters and the show would be instantly better for it.
Talk about hitting the brakes after what happened in the last episode. This was more like hitting a wall.
During the recap I was like "please, don't let this be a complete episode about Kwan". Guess what. If you need proof that neither the character, nor the actress, can carry an episode - look no further.
If there isn't a major reveal coming how she will be THE most integral part of the story (like it's hinted in her vision by what her father told her) this all was a waste of time. At least we are spared more of that idiot Vinsher.
Great, a whole episode of "no one asked for this".

Weak episode, weak story and weak character! I don't even need to say her name. This episode could totaly be skipped.

I completely cracked up when Kwan driving herself in a sandstorm (without a car windshield) has no problems with her eyes. In addition, faced with the impending loss of visibility, he decides to... accelerate. It would really be hard to come up with something more IDIOTIC.
They still use coins that far in the future?
50 I Even with fancy costumes and settings, Halo still has a lot of boring shots. Cinematography is about lighting, framing, and camera movement, Halo did not do it that well. There is a mixed feeling about some characters in Halo, especially Soren. His character has an ambiguous motivation. Did he respect John or is he only care about Kwan Ha's money? In episode eight Kwan Ha had a bit of character development, she is a bit smarter than before, but still a boring character. And what the desert ladies are all about? Are they just watching when Kwan Ha almost got whopped? Every time there is action in Halo it becomes a better series.

I don't hate Kwan Ha but it would have been better if she just disappeared or never happened to appear again in Halo :)
I wish I skipped this episode. The side stories and characters wouldn't be so bad if they weren't poorly casted and terribly written.
Why are they speaking in a different language when they've been freaking speaking in English the entire series? It's so annoying when they do that...I really don't want to read subtitles.

I don't relate to the Halo fans debates and arguments regarding this series... I enjoyed this episode and I kinda dig the color processing :satisfied:
It's not just the uselessness of it, and the unfortunate dislike for the Quan character, but does it have to be so friggin' cliche'? I guess we can guess this well/portal is something John will need/use in the future. But what a waste of my time to get there. Did I mention it's "cliche'". Make the villain as disgusting as possible, last week with the "i can be inappropriately naked just to show how powerful I am, this week the needless shooting of a harmless woman in the back; even a futuristic black SUV! WTF?! How unoriginal can you get? And of course tons of guys shooting automatic weapons, some at almost point blank range, can't hit Soren, but the villain can just raise his mighty pistol and hit him at a distance with 1 shot. I keep meaning to look it up, because the same writers can't be writing both arcs, because last week, focusing on John, Halsey and Makee was brilliant. Rant off....
Worst episode so far. Boring AF
They have some Bene Gesserit shit going on with desert witches and Kwan Ha is Paul Atreides who gets vision like him or his mom after she drinks the the holy water in Dune Books.
An episode devoted to Soren and Kwan Ha.
He’s likeable in a supporting role, but she’s too much of a stock character to carry an entire episode.
It was okay. The battle at the end went on too long and didn’t really hold my interest.
A major story arc is resolved here.

I guess this is the best part of Kwan Ha's storyline and it's still not worth it tbh. I feel the same as Soren, God I hope not see her again!
An unnecessary episode. Kwan's side story is boring and in a show that already has issues with pacing, this one is a tough watch.
Wow this was a shitty episode. 3/10 because Soren is twodimensional character and the action around the pipeline was nice, especially the birds view camera angle.
Great side quest episode from the main plot. Feels like a heap of Dune with a side order of Soren as the Mandalorian. I bet the tech of Madrigal, that needs a Protector, is linked to the Forerunners.
It wasn't bad, but did I need a whole episode just for Kwan?

What a complete waste of an hour and wow did that just kill the momentum of the last two mainline story episodes.

Soren: God, I hope not.
I’m with you Soren, I hope this wraps up the Kwan side story and we never see her again. The writers of Halo really messed up with this side story.
This episode needs a skip cutscene button. Absolutely revolting. This show could have been so much better.

Let's hope the Convent glasses Madrigal with all the useless side characters on it. Let's get back to the Master Chief.
A feel good episode with minimal master chief but to flesh out the characters what do we really expect a needed change of pace and building of the story. All necessary for future seasons etc to explore the arch fully.
