Hanna 2019

Loved Season 1, probably because it was so closely based on the hit film. However, season 2 didn’t live up to the previous season.

I still enjoyed it, but the decline is enough to drop my rating by a couple of stars. Hopefully, season 3 will improve.

Can’t fault the main actress who plays Hanna, she’s an excellent fit for the show and does as well as the original actress in the film.

Thrilling Action Adventure Drama. What drew me to this series was the casting of Mireille Enos of whom I've been a fan since THE KILLING and she does not disappoint. All three leads bring excellent performances with emotional depth. Esme Creed-Miles was a newcomer for me but, as the anchor of the show, she was magnificent. There is a real tenderness to the story (with incidental wit) that equally balance the action adventure. This is shot in beautiful European locations. It was a solid 9 (superb) out of 10 for me from the very beginning. I fully look forward to more seasons and I am going to track down and watch the movie by the same title with Saoirse Ronan. The series is much, much better than the 2011 movie by the same name AND you don't have to suffer the incessant whistling.

It was a fun and engaging story that I greatly enjoyed. We essentially watched Hanna flourish and experience different phases of her life, being a "killing machine" along the way. In the end, the last episode gave her a fitting conclusion, allowing her to be free and make choices regarding her own life. I just have to praise Esme and the other cast members from Seasons 1-3 for their compelling performances. It was an awesome ride, and I hope to rewatch this show in the future.

Overall, I like it. The actors were great, the scenery gorgeous.
There was , however, some missteps. Certain scenes were too long. Inconsistencies in the story. I would have like if they had focus on the adaptation of someone who was raised in a forest and had to adapt to modern life. In the show, there isn't really clashes of the two worlds. Hanna is directly too comfortable around modern things.
The cause can be the fact they stretched a 2 hour movies in a multiple episodes season. There isn't enough content.

Season 1 is really good. 2nd season adds nothing, skip it.

I've seen bits and pieces of the movie but haven't got around to watching it. I'm sure the movie is WAY better but I'll still give this show a shot.

farfetched and sometimes ridiculous and I enjoyed every minute of it.

season 1 was great, edge of your seat stuff at times and you really grow to have an affection for the characters

season 2 you're perhaps thinking like me, im not sure there was another season in this but they somehow kinda made it work, it wasn't great by any and some of the acting was so bad, yasmin was a truly terrible actress and so awful on screen, Aine Rose Daly was so annoying but you felt like that could have been her character

Season 3 - awful, i managed 2 episodes, by which time you realise Aine rose Daly character is just... you have to switch it off, hanna by this stage is also quickly becoming annoying and the whole plot lines are just something thrown together to milk what started off as a great show. I think i made it to nearly the end of episode 2 before i thought, why am i doing this to myself and ultimately took the sane choice of binning it

This show is very addictive. I agree with other commenters here that this show is much better than the movie. This show takes us into an elaborate world of spies, deceit and drama.

This is one of my favourite series and has been so from the first season. (After the first season, I also watched the movie of the same name, starring the extremely talented Saoirse Ronan, and found the two have a very different feel to them and I prefer the series over the movie.) Esme Creed-Miles is exceptional in the titular role (it's hard to believe she was 17 when she took on this role and was merely 20 when the project wrapped). Mereille Enos (who was my original draw to the project as I followed her filmography from her superb performance in THE KILLING) is brilliant as the antagonist (ally?). The writing is tight and the narrative is skillfully woven. There is emotional depth to an otherwise action filled thriller. I love the characters and the performances across the board. I am so sorry to see it end but it was a very fitting conclusion. This is a series I will revisit every couple of year and I highly recommend it and have given it a 10 (excellent) out of 10. The spy drama is like a see-saw, where the advantage shifts from one side or the other, but there is no real sense of struggle when the balance shifts, and no sense that the victories are earned. Each complex challenge has an easy solution.

As for the personal drama, Hanna herself is also not a particularly compelling main character. I would have expected a greater sense of excitement (whether wonder or fear) when the girl who grew up in the wilderness finally rode her first vehicle, or saw her first TV or listened to her first mp3, but she mostly takes it all in stride. Hell, even as awkward as she is, she's still far too comfortable around other people given her extreme lack of interpersonal experience. There isn't a sense of how deeply this incredible background should have shaped her or the difficulty she should be facing in overcoming it.

Amazon KILLED it once again. Phenomenal season.

The story is same the Hitman: Absolution and it was so predictable that I was uninterested most of the time even though the acting, action, cinematography was good.

The biggest problem with this was that even though the side characters were interesting they did very less to move the overarching plot forward. There is family drama and teenage romance which had its moments.

I wish they made it shorter - 4 episodes would have been sufficient. Or they should have just made a remake of the movie instead.

Hanna is a badass and I am interested in what will happen to her in the second season.

I'd recommend it only if you are in the mood for a slow burner.

Season 2 in 2020 on Amazon

I wish it was it bit more "high-concept thriller" and a little less "coming-of-age drama" (imdb), but there are some moments and performances worth watching for. Mirelle Enos is damned interesting in her role as the baddie. Joel Kinnaman is as likable as he is in anything else he's done, but the character isn't particularly interesting. The young woman who plays Hanna is at her best when she's in Bourne mode rather than the fish out of water waif dealing with her desires to be a normal teenage girl in the 'real world'.

Absolutely fantastic show hope they do a season 2

I was sceptic at first, but at the end I enjoyed the whole season.
Hopefully there will be at least a 2nd season.

Ups and downs and has a some flaws. It takes a different turn than how the end of the movie went and kind of just keeps circling on capturing and fleeing until the end. It's quite good and could get a really interesting second season, but kind of doubt it. I would be just as good as a mini-series and let it go into history as a nice small piece.
