One of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Bravo! Congratulations to the whole team for the great reception of this show and thanks to all of you for bringing this stupendous stuff to my eyeballs. Thank you thank you. Can't wait for next episode.
Fun people involved but the end product doesn't hook me at all.
The setup is over the top, there's too much singing all the time. The premise is not funny-absurd but absurd-absurd and unbelievable from the get go as a result. Characters try to come off as quirky but are just annoying.
A very weird, not fitting mix of personalities thrown together for no apparent reason.
It's a disjointed mess and uninteresting throughout, which is too bad.
Beautiful artstyle, though.
Oh my goodness this show is phenomenal! Episode 4 shook me to the core, what an emotional roller-coaster!
This show lost me when they started singing. Also the voice actors don’t really vibe together at all. The art style is the best part hands down, but the background is too noisy, you lose track of the characters s lot.
This show has had so much hype going for it for years. While I never got too invested, I definitely enjoyed the pilot, it set up some mysteries, the animation was great, the character designs were unique, and most importantly of all, the premise was actually intriguing. I never got too invested, though. The jokes didn't land for me, the sound design was excessive, Angel Dust was annoyingly sexual, the visuals were overwhelming, and overall the pacing was awful. It was hard to process what was going on.
A few months ago when I saw the news that Hazbin Hotel would be coming out on Amazon Prime, I wasn't that curious. It'd been four years, so my interest had long waned. However, I ended up giving in because I watched some Youtubers discuss about the plots of individual episodes and thought "Huh, this actually looks pretty good."
Having now watched the six episodes out, I am... Very conflicted. I adore the creativity behind everything, from character designs, to the artstyle and the musical numbers. Also I love a few of the characters. But by far the biggest detriment to the series is how fucking awful the pacing is. I get that the showrunners want to tell their story and that at the time they must've been extremely worried about not getting a second season, but they overcompensated by cramming every important event into eight episodes. The whole "hotel for sinners to find redemption" thing, which is the whole damn point of the show, is put to the side to priotitize other plot points. Most of the show so far consists of moments that should've waited until the second season. They are good on paper, but since the show has given us nearly no time to get to know these characters and see them interact and grow with each other, they feel like the writers are pulling them out of their asses. They make me think of the UNFULFILLED POTENTIAL.
This is basically Disney for adult audience so 10/10
At first I thought this is nothing. there is far too much cursing and is too violent. When they started singing again I actually wanted to turn it off. but something made me keep watching. and before I knew it I had seen all 6 episodes (which are now available) in 1 evening.
i am hooked.
I was thinking when I first saw clips of this that the artwork looked the same as another series, "Helluva Boss" (https://trakt.tv/shows/helluva-boss) and then I noticed it's from the same creator.
This show dropped out of nowhere for me only to fill my days with fun songs and wonderfully designed characters. The music in this is truly some fo the best and will ruin my Spotify wrapped this year however I did find the story and the character arcs to be a little rushed maybe could have benefited from some longer episodes or just more in the season
DNF after 2 episodes.
I really wanted to love it but I could not connect with the stories, characters, dialogue, animation style (except for the opening intro).
The only thing I loved about this show was the songs. I'm not prepared to sit through 22 minutes of each episode for the one or two songs. I'll go and listen to the soundtrack instead.
There's heart and care underneath the crass humour. While it's certainly not an animation for everyone, when it "clicks", it really becomes an obsession.
The pacing is a big issue though, likely caused by the fact there's few episodes.
Amazing show, I'm becoming a big fan of the creator. Loved the story, the characters are well designed, fun and touching, the songs are catchy.
I took a couple minutes to adapt to the busy animation style but it was so worth it.
Can't wait for season 2.

i found VivziePop's YT channel in search of interesting artistic adult animation and this exactly hits the spot. i really dig her style and everything she's put out is amazing, weird and dark/funny. i really hope A24 does something with this show! check out Helluva Boss, if you want more from this creator!
