Good map reading skills and strong boots are essential as all the cadets try to impress their Mountain rescue mentor and be awarded Hero of the Day.

This job requires teamwork, good communication and stamina, as they soon realise, when given the responsibility of patrolling a busy beach. Rav Wilding is on hand to make sure that they put their training to good use when they respond to an emergency call about an injured wind surfer.
There's no time for larking around as the Cadets find out for themselves, just how treacherous mud can be. It's a messy job and the cadets have a real struggle on their hands as they try to rescue a man trapped in the mud flats. Can they free him from his sticky situation, before hypothermia sets in? This is not a good time to forget how to tie a knot!
