The Mars Family of 12 has outgrown their home several times. With ten kids ranging in age from five to twenty, they have gone through many expansion projects, one of which was adding on a new kitchen.

With a new baby and an expanding business, Seth and Samantha Barnes are quickly outgrowing their house. The couple would love for their cluttered garage to be transformed into a space where Sam can run her cooking business. They also dream of a backyard that can be an extension of their home. Leave it to designer Jamie Durie to give the Barnes so much more! He takes on the garage challenge but also expands his HGTV'd concept their backyard. His plan includes a huge deck capped with a wall of retractable glass that brings the living room into the yard, a fire pit relaxation area, a patio and pergola in front of the garage, and edible garden for cooking.

Avid travelers and ultimate HGTV fans, Jennifer and Kevin Berson have remodeled most of their house with elements directly from their favorite HGTV shows. However, with the arrival of their first child, the Berson's family room and Jen's office was left cluttered and unfinished. Enter Kim Myles! Kim's goal is to turn the cluttered hodge-podge of a room into a high-brow, luxurious, yet comfortable space. Her Regency-inspired transformation includes rich colors and textiles, custom furniture, a custom focal point chandelier, a unique art screen covering the media center, inspired office space furnishings, and a custom antique door art installation. The end result is a jaw-dropping space that is both functional and breathtaking.

From making music to playing games, the Marshalls are a tight-knit clan. Their basement could be the perfect place to hang out but its shabby decor, weird lay out, and broken down fireplace makes it a space that is not conducive for family fun time. Enter designer Antonio Ballatore, who turns the Marshall's wishes for a hip hangout basement into the ultimate place to rock out, play games and hang in style! Inspired by rock and roll and classic 80's arcade themes, Antonio rips out the Marshall's old fireplace and bulky closet to expand the space, gives the walls colorful paint and custom boom box wall paper treatments, creates a seating area with custom banquets inspired by the family's vintage 1968 Ford Galaxy, builds a 'road case' media center that houses 3 TVs and designs an array of graphically personalized vintage arcade games to fill the space with life, love and energy.

As parents of three young girls, Ryan & Erin Fletter are long overdue for a space they can reclaim as their own in their 1890′s Victorian home.

With two young daughters who have quickly overtaken their house, Ricky and Michelle Cardenas long for a kid-free, toy-free retreat. Their dream is to transform an unused, upstairs bonus room into a Mexican cantina-inspired lounge, media room and office to remind them of their travels south of the border. Claro que si! Who better to tackle this challenge than Mexico's designer extraordinaire, Sandra Espinet? To create a stylish space with Mexican flair that is functional and sophisticated, Sandra replaces two old closets with custom cabinets that house a chic office area for Michelle and a swanky bar for Ricky, equipped with a high-tech keg machine! These cabinet doors showcase a Latin-infused, wrought iron-inspired design material that is used as an eye-catching accent throughout the room, including a stunning design on the cathedral ceiling. To give this space Sandra's signature flair, the ceiling is also finished with a Moroccan star design and an authentic wrought iron chandelier from Mexico. This makeover also features an LED fireplace with a state-of-the-art pop-up plasma television. By the end, Sandra fulfills all of the Cardenas' dreams and more - creating the ultimate adult lounge that is functional, comfortable and elegant.

HGTV'd and The Ellen DeGeneres Show team up to give an amazing military family a once-in-a-lifetime home makeover. After receiving a request for tickets from Krystal and Ryan, Ellen decides to do something much bigger to give back to her deserving fans. Live on her show, Ellen surprises the couple, revealing the HGTV'd crew will be giving them a $100,000 makeover, transforming their home inside and out! HGTV'd enlists fierce designer David Bromstad to pull off this challenge! To turn their drab backyard into a luxe, fully loaded retreat, David furnishes the space with luxurious outdoor furniture and a top-of-the-line barbeque. The yard comes to life with a burst of green when David installs large limestone planters and lush artificial grass. The final pieces in David's grand plan for the yard come together when an exquisite pergola goes up and the dramatic fire and water feature goes in. But the design guru doesn't stop there! David goes inside and completely overhauls the family's living room and bedroom, bringing in all new modern furniture and plush carpeting. As a finishing touch, David creates three customized paintings to give the spaces the signature Bromstad splash of color. By the end, the couple's bland, style-challenged house is transformed into a chic but functional dream home the family will enjoy for many years to come!

HGTV'd and Design Star winner Emily Henderson tackle the lackluster, cluttered family room of Steve and John, who are the proud papas of two adopted sons. They recently converted the boys' old nursery into a multipurpose room. While the space has major potential, it's turned into a hodgepodge of a room, overflowing with books, toys, and mismatched furniture. What's worse, the room doesn't reflect their love of art and eclectic taste. Enter designer Emily Henderson to the rescue! Using her set stylist's eye, Emily transforms the space with the use of bold colors, artistic touches, and comfy furniture. From vibrant teal wallpaper to a gallery style art wall, Emily quickly turns the room from forgotten to fabulous! Emily also stylishly organizes the family's stuff by carving out a workspace area and crafting a beautiful, open storage structure with custom, built-in shelves. The piece de resistance? Secret bookcase doors! John has always dreamed of having a door disguised as a bookcase leading to a secret room, and Emily is thrilled to make this childhood wish come true. As the HGTV'd crew and Emily finish the makeover, it's mission accomplished.

After neglecting their beige and boring bonus room for years, Chris Zozaski and Amanda Bailey are ready for a change. As avid movie buffs and avowed Rat Packers, this hip, young couple's wish is to transform this unused space into an entertainment hub and home movie theater. Leave it to unflappable master craftsman Carter Oosterhouse to tackle the challenge! Carter's vision is to fuse the past with the present by combining the glamour of Old Hollywood with modern, high-tech amenities. This way, he can capture their cool, fun style, while giving them state of the art functionality. By the end, Carter surpasses Chris and Amanda's expectations by transforming their boring bonus room into not only an ultra hip lounge, but an ultra cool home movie theater. Bring on the popcorn!

HGTV'D and landscape designer Ahmed Hassan take on the daunting task of overhauling the Clegg family's big and barren backyard in the middle of Texas. Lack of square footage in this huge yard is not the issue for this fun loving family of four. The challenge is how to take this oversized blank slate and turn it into a stylish, functional outdoor oasis that works for the entire family. By the time Ahmed is finished, the Clegg's backyard wasteland is transformed into the ultimate outdoor 'staycation' spot the entire family can enjoy for years to come.

Moving from a cramped apartment in Manhattan to a spacious home in Texas, Christian and Nancy Rodill are overwhelmed by all their new space. These NYC transplants want to transform their unused upstairs bonus room into a chic lounge for entertaining. Enter designer extraordinaire Genevieve Gorder! She plans to fuse the Rodill's love of the Big City with their current desert landscape in big ol' Texas. Using green grass cloth wallpaper, layers of textural sheetrock on the walls, and a converted glass jewelry case for a bar, Genevieve creates a distinctive, unique vintage bar for entertaining. The last piece of design is the biggest and most impressive, as a 600-pound onyx art structure goes up on the wall, giving the entertainment room a truly one-of-a-kind focal point.

What do you get when HGTV'd and celebrity designer Thom Filicia team up and take over two sad and stodgy formal living spaces that have plagued a fun-loving family? One grand and gorgeous space to dine and entertain that boasts a real WOW factor!
