Wow! Like a big WOW! This episode was totally awesome! Amazing music in this episode and creepy and scary story. I am really impressed.

David's been having nightmares recently, thanks to the nightmare-fuel Hilda provides him every day.
Hilda: "You scare awful easy for someone who's always got a bug on him."
David: "Sorry, I'm a bit jumpy. It's probably on account of having nightmares all week."
Hilda: "All week? What do you think's causing them?"
David: "Uh, don't take this the wrong way, but you... obviously."
Hilda tries to help him conquer his fears by giving him more nightmare fuel and taking a sewer trip. They run into the gossip-king (an amalgamation of rats), who trades a secret with Hilda for another.
It turns out this random teen Hilda's suspicious of is causing David's bad dreams and is a nightmare spirit called a "marra". The marra seems to cause bad dreams to share with their friends so they can pretend their lives aren't dreadfully dull. So Hilda and David do the old switcheroo, and fearless Hilda challenges the spirit to a dream-off. If she doesn't get scared, the floaty girl will stop bugging bug boy David.
The battle is on! Hilda is immune to the traditional scares of spiders and giants before the ghost tries a different tactic. Emotional abuse! It seems that spending all that time in the wilderness meant Hilda's never ridden a bike before, leading to her phobia for them. But then David decides to do something out-of-character by sacrificing his happy dreams to save his friend from any more emotional torment.
David: "I can't make her do this for me. If she can handle them, then so can I."
This ordeal gets the bully girl to back-off because it isn't fun giving nightmares to those who ask. And the episodes finishes with Hilda asking her friends to teach her how to ride a bike.
An intense episode that provides growth for not only Hilda but David as well. The episode also utilises as many characters as they can (Johanna, Twig, Frida, David's parents and Alfur) to create a distressing tale about enduring trauma for your friends and the sacrifices one makes to do so.
TECHNICAL & ENJOYMENT SCORE: 8/10
Wow. The eeriness of this episode and the Marra reminds me of Gravity Falls.
And I like how Hilda's tendency to drag her friends into scary adventures made her an antagonist. Not just the Marra. I thought they'd just get rid of the Marra, the end. Problem solved. Instead, our characters learn to acknowledge their mistakes and experience personal growth. Now, how about that?
Also, David is such a treat. He sacrificed himself for Hilda, so she didn't have to endure that nightmare. David for president! I'm only giving this a 7.5 is because I loved this episode. It's not too short that it makes me feel there could've been more, but not too long that I get bored.
