Pretty weak stuff. It was basically a single joke over and over again (couple break ups being like regular break ups) without any real neat twists or fun riffs on the material. Plus, the show already did the idea better in a shorter period of time with Lily and Marshall in "The Platinum Rule." Going through the usual romcom tropes with four people instead of two people is an idea with some juice in it, but this episode just beat the idea into the ground.

At the same time, the whole Sexless Inkeeper bit was pretty dumb as well. I enjoy when the show gets a little fanciful with sets and costumes and whatnot, but the idea itself is a little gross, and the poems weren't especially clever. Really, the transition from the cat-sitting photo montage to the cat funeral montage was the only thing that made me laugh here. Nothing so horrible in the episode, just generally lame humor and storytelling that never rises above a mild chuckle.

I love the songs that Marshall sings. The Best Night Ever is my favorite song from the show, with Let's Go to the Mall as a close second.
