7.8/10. As usual, I give HIMYM a lot of credit for the creativity of its structure and premise in a given episode, even if the characters seem a little off and the story isn't exactly endearing. Framing the entire episode as a flashback told by Lily to a girl at the bar, with the entire thing ending up as part of Barney's plan is the kind of "neat trick" storytelling that helps cover for other flaws. Similarly, the way the show displayed the various "plays" led to a lot of fun little sketches. The overall story was pretty weak, seemed pretty harsh to Robin, and kind of undid a good part of the development they'd tried to give Barney over the last season or so, but I guess we needed a reintroduction to Barney on the prowl and this was as fun and inventive away to do that as any. Plus, Ted and Marshall's constantly ragging on Robin for being about to meet the love of her life had the fun friendly ribbing vibe that the show has done so well in the past.
