Gok is back with the first of two specials looking at some of his favourite How to Look Good Naked transformations. He's catching up with Lucy Govan, who 12 months BG was a tomboy who lived in a horsy world where glamour was a four-letter word! She felt fat and unfeminine and never ever got naked.
Gok is back with a catch up of two of his favourite How to Look Good Naked ladies. In tonight's second show it's the turn of Lisa Mayall. A year ago he tore through this single mum of three's life like a tornado giving her the full 'naked' experience.
Meet 46-year-old Susan Sharpe from Yorkshire. At size 16, she's the average for a British woman, but she feels that her curves are out of control. Can he manage to get Susan into a dress, without resorting to alcohol?
Fashion stylist Gok Wan is on another tricky mission to bring some loving to a body-loather. His challenge is to get 29-year-old mother of two Claire Green to look and feel good with her clothes on, and with them off. So fashion stylist and presenter Gok Wan has just four weeks to convince Claire to get out of her rut and start to strut. But can he make her look good, naked?
In episode three, Gok's challenge is Roberta Fox-Braddock. Roberta lives in South Wales and works in a steel works. With her tough job and masculine clothes she has perfected a cover-up job that not only masks her personality but also hides her body. She can’t even get undressed in front of her husband of 20 years and the only time she leaves the house is to go to work. Her body image has reached rock bottom, and that’s her main problem - she thinks her backside is huge. At the end of the show Roberta has to strip off completely for all the world to see. Is Roberta finally going to look good naked?
In the fourth of the series, Gok is on a mission to show 25-year-old Rubie Poonia that she really can look good with her clothes on, and off. Rubie, who hates her size 18 body and thinks it’s too big to be beautiful, is a PR girl living and working amongst the blonde and the beautiful of Bournemouth. By day she hides in baggy clothes while skinny blondes hang out on the beach. By night she works in bars and clubs and while everyone else wears short skirts and tiny tops, she covers up. Rubie wants to look good and feel good with her clothes and without them. She won’t even get changed for a night out in front of her friends. It’s Gok’s mission to give Rubie the style and confidence to work her body and show her how to dress it. But will she look good naked?
Gok meets Zoe Cobden, a 27-year-old London girl and a fine figure of a woman, but like most females she just can’t see it. She hates her size 12 body so much that she tries to make herself invisible by wearing clothes as camouflage. And although she hates her whole body, it’s her love handles that are simply too much to handle. It’s Gok’s mission to give Zoe the style and confidence to work her body and to show her how to dress it. And he's not holding back this week - ‘You look 104 years old and like you’re going camping,’ he says, berating her for beige attire. And when he slips her into a bustier and pencil skirt combo he says, ‘Now it’s more Monaco and less Streatham.’ Zoe has officially been Gok’d. But will she look good naked?
The 36-year-old girls' school teacher Emma Wright should be in her prime, but when it comes to body-loathing, this 1.8-metre tall lass comes top of the class. Leana is ashamed of her barrel-shape body and non-existent waist - she covers it up in a wardrobe of shapeless clothes. She’s afraid of communal changing rooms and when Leana does go shopping she cuts the labels out of her clothes so she doesn’t have to be reminded her size. It’s Gok’s mission to give Leana back the style and confidence to work her body - showing her how to look good with her clothes on. But can he get her to look good naked?
When Londoner Dorothy Pearlman hit 40 she lost her va va voom. Now, she’s a doting mother, devoted wife and compassionate nurse - an eternal carer who looks after everyone except for herself. Dorothy quite simply hates the way she looks and wants to feel sexy again. More than anything else she (like a massive 9 out of 10 UK women) loathes her thighs and thinks that everything she wears makes them look worse. It’s Gok’s mission to give Dorothy back the style and confidence to work her body – showing her how to look good with her clothes on, and off.
In episode one, Gok meets 29 year-old midwife Liz Marlowe, a working mum-of-two whose curvy size 16 figure is sending her self-esteem plummeting to rock-bottom. A former head-turner who never struggled to capture male attention, Liz now can't even bear stripping off in front of her adoring husband Adrian. When they first met eleven years ago she was the leggy blonde in her group of friends, but two kids and a few dress sizes down the line she's feeling fat, frumpy and at an all-time low. Desperate to boost her self-confidence, Adrian constantly tries to reassure her that she's still the same "fantastically beautiful, stunning gorgeous lady" he fell for in the first place, but with Liz hiding her body under layers of unflatteringly baggy clothing, it’s clear that his efforts are falling on deaf ears. After a gruelling soul-searching session in front of Gok's full-length mirrors and some very public feedback in front of a saucily revealing poster in the local cinema, Helen is beginning to confront her body demons. Soon Gok's showing her how to dress to her best with some stunning hand-picked outfits, buffing her "Bristols" with some fancy spa treatments and maximizing her curves with some very supportive undergarments. In this week's episode we meet housewife Vikki Brace who's taken the term "stay at home mum" to the extreme. She refuses to wear a leotard when dancing and hates the fact that it prevented her being a professional ballet dancer.
Gok’s in Crawley this week where he’s on a mission to re-awaken the rock chick in Cindy Bristow. Cindy’s not just hit 40, she’s also slammed full on into the buffers, and after 3 kids is feeling clueless how to adapt to the lumps and bumps that motherhood brings. She still feels like she’s 20 in her head and whilst being young at heart is no bad thing; it’s making Cindy feel horrified every time she looks in a mirror. Cindy is conscious that husband Dan is 9 years younger than her and she worries that her changing body will affect their relationship. This negative mindset has meant that doting Dan doesn’t get a look in — making the situation infinitely worse.

Fashion guru Gok Wan is back, continuing his mission to bring body confidence and top style to the people of Britain. The new run kicks off with a series first, as Gok gets his hands on social recluse Simon Wainwright and undertakes his first ever male makeover. Thirty-five-year-old Simon was diagnosed with Sheuermann's Disorder, a curvature of the spine when he was 14, and in March 2008 he underwent life changing surgery to correct the 96 degree curve. But what should have been the start of a new confident life actually made his self-esteem crash to zero when Simon became repulsed by his new body.
Most middle-aged women want to look the way they did when they were in their 20s. But the gospel according to St Gok is that our bodies change and we need to change our hearts and minds along with it. "Face up to the fact you have a real woman's body and learn to love it," Gok tells weepy Adele, who at 40 thinks she's gone to pot since she gave up figure skating.
