“Longing for Marielund” tells the unusual story of Stockholm stewardess Lena Lagerberg. Lena has not been with her family in the archipelago for many years. A shadow lies over her past and Lena has not wanted to face it so far. She was too afraid that returning to Lagerberg would reopen the old wounds. Her father's boat accident is the reason for Lena to return after so many years and to help her father Björn, who runs a small farm with a stud farm and holiday apartments together with the family of Lena's sister Ingrid. The joy of reunion is great, although Björn senses that his daughter has not come to terms with the past and may soon be leaving. However, Lena consistently avoids her godmother Elinor, who lives on the dreamlike property “Marielund”.
