I liked the premise of the show. Different couples visit other's instant hotels and score them in different categories.
The first 5 couples were decent and fun to watch. Very different characters though I would sometimes throw my hands up in the air and mutter "asshole". But the second round of 5 couples... What on Earth did the makers of this show think when they brought these people in? Hateful, spiteful and jealous people.
If I hear the sentence "I'm in the top 2% of TripAdvisor reviews. I know what I'm talking about" one more time, I'm gonna throw up. Alternatively "MIKEYYY!!!".
Very few couples of the second round actually wanted to take on advice but instead "knew everything" and "knew better" than anybody else. It's really sad to see. All of the shown locations were amazingly beautiful. Some reviews were just plain rude and ungrounded while other reviews certainly had some truth to them.
Overall, I enjoyed the first 5 or 6 episodes of the show, before the second round of couples came in. Then it all went to hell.
Do these people even think about that this is aired in TV and how this is going to reflect on them as hosts? There are a few people I would like to stay with, others I would just stay far away from because of their personality and their spitefulness.
Season 1: If you'd like to watch Australians eviscerate one another's labors of love for the sake of a trip to California, then this is a great option to consider. The show is broken up oddly into two parts, Episodes 1-5 featuring one group of people, Episodes 6-10 featuring another, and then Episodes 11 & 12 as a finale showdown between the winners of the first two parts. The sets of episodes feel very different from one another. A rocky start to this show. I found the finale episodes to have the best structure and it was fun to see how the hosts had changed their homes based on previous feedback. I wish that somehow could have been the mechanic of the entire sire.
I'm interested to watch Season 2, if only to see if they can change some of the rules and structure of the show to make it more engaging and fair.
I will say that I enjoyed seeing different regions of Australia and, as someone who is hoping to own a home soon, I had fun getting home decorating inspiration.

Many of these contestants are very bitter people. They gave scores that weren't accurate and undeserving just to be mean. All in the name of competition. I like the finalist couple and I am glad they won.
