Alternate title: "Dennis Gets Off"
[7.2/10] Hey! It’s one of the very few episode of IASIP that I saw before I started this series watch! I want to say I caught this on a plane not long after it came out, and obviously it wasn’t enough to hook me on the show, but certainly enough to pique my interest.
In retrospect, it’s definitely an episode that works better if you know the characters (which is probably true for just about any show in its eighth season). I like Frank and Charlie doing a mini-Wall Street parody, and Frank playing up his “The Warthog” cred. Charlie not understanding what it is they do, while Frank plays mini-Gecko is entertaining.
It’s also a nice outing for Dennis in particular, as his “getting off” on impersonating this “Brian LeFev” goes to creepy new heights, and Mac and Dee’s frightened and bewildered response to all of his stuff is very funny.
As usual, the episode really comes together in the end as all the threads get tied together. The “Fight Milk” ad from Mac and Charlie isn’t my favorite of the show’s fake commercials, but I appreciate how it pays off the various mentions of crow eggs earlier in the episode, and there’s even some funny continuity nods like the container having a flyer from the guys’ house party a long time ago. And the way that the Brian LeFev material connects with Frank’s business is nicely done.
Overall, the characters were a little exaggerated in this episode, even for this show, but it was largely an enjoyable outing for IASIP.
