Animal Jam is a television show produced by the Jim Henson Company in 2003. The show is a wild, music driven, live-action dance show designed to be "interactive," and encourages viewers to get up and dance along with the characters. The show is hosted by Muppet characters Edi and Waffle.

Bozark is having an extra-special party for his birthday after the show ends. Edi ask Waffle if he has been invited, but Waffle says he didn’t receive an invitation. Waffle starts to cry at missing out on Bozark’s birthday party and decides to throw himself a birthday party that doesn't include Bozark. It turns out that Waffle was invited to Bozark's party and Waffle apologies to Bozark.

At the DJs’ workstation, the DJs are preparing a giant birthday cake for Bozark. DJ 1 is operating a machine crane to carry the giant cake, but he forgot to turn off the machine when he started to sing for Bozark's dance.

At the DJs’ workstation, the DJs' are trying to get rid of a stripe lever on their music station. Edi the Zebra overheard them talking about the lever, but she believed the DJs are talking about her and mocking the way she walks. When Waffle the Cow-Monkey and Edi talk to the DJs about this, the DJs explain that they were talking about the stripe lever and replacing it with a new lever. DJ 3 pulls the lever that brings down a banner of Edi and Waffle to show that the DJs love them.

Waffle declares today as "Hooray For Waffle Day." Whenever Waffle does anything, everyone is supposed to shout "Hooray!" However, Waffle fails to jump no matter how hard he tries. Edi the Zebra tells him to keep taking chances and trying one's best. After Bozark's dance, Waffle keeps trying to jump and finally jump very high. Edi shouts "Hooray!" to Waffle's delight.

At the DJs' workstation, the DJs are creating a rocket pack to helped Waffle jump very high.

Waffle shows off his world largest boot collection, but gets in Edi's way. Edi tells him to go sideways like her friend, Carol, who is a crab. After Edi's song, Waffle declares he is now going to walk sideways only. After Bozark's dance, Waffle learns to move in different ways besides going sideways. Then he shows Edi his boot collection.

At the DJs' workstation, the DJ 2 wears gloves that look like giant crab claws and starts pinching the other DJs. After much pinching, DJ 1 and DJ 3 takes the giant crab claws off from DJ 2 and starts pinching him.

Edi is tired of doing everything with Waffle and wants some personal space. So Waffle creates a map of the Jam Room so he can plan out the personal spaces between everyone. His plan is to have each personal space with an imaginary fence around the person with an alarm on it. However, Edi tells Waffle that personal space is not visible and it’s not always in one place. Also, personal space changes its size depending on the person’s mood. Waffle gets confuse after a while not knowing if Edi wants to be near him or when she needs some time away from him. After Bozark’s dance, Waffle learns that personal space is everywhere and you don’t have to crowd someone to be closed to them.

Waffle the Cow-Monkey wants to play a superhero game called Pretzel Monkey. However, Edi the Zebra says they have played it two hundred times and she wants to play Secret Agent Z instead. Waffle still want to play his game and Edi says he is very stubborn for not wanting to change. To convinced Waffle to be flexible in the mind, Edi sings a song about Rudy the Mule, who would sleep on the ground and not move. Waffle is not convinced and believes that if he sings about "Pretzel Monkey," it would make Edi want to play his game. At the DJs' workstation, the DJs decide to become bad guys and steal Pretzel Monkey's pretzel that would make anyone flexible in the body. Edi and Waffle decide to work together by having Edi ask some super smart questions while Waffle sneaks behind the DJs and gets his pretzel back. They learned that they were flexible in the mind to combine the two games together into a whole new game.

Edi the Zebra is frustrated that she can't keep up with Waffle's ability to do things with extreme speed like a cheetah. Waffle does things with extreme speed so he has a lot of free time to do whatever he wants to do, but he ends up playing with his tail. Edi later learns that it's OK to go "at your own pace" while Waffle learns to respect the "natural speed" of other creatures.

At the DJs' workstation, the DJs have a race to see which one is the fastest after DJ 3 claims that since he is a leopard that they are fast. He ends up being the slowest out of the other DJs in the race.

When Waffle shows off his new dance move, Scramble Eggs with a Jalapeño Twist, to Edi, the DJs like his new dance that they start to copy him. When Edi tries to show off her dance, "The Scooch," no one is giving her any attention and is only interested in Waffle’s new dance. Edi wished that she were big so she can get the attention. At the end, Edi realized that it is not about what size you are, but how you move your body. Waffle also assures her that she is the right size no matter what. Edi is even more surprised when the DJs, Waffle, Bozark, and all of the kids are doing "The Scooch."

Waffle wants to play with Edi's new favorite toy, Ginger the Jungle Slug, but Edi wants to play with it now and told Waffle he can have his turn later on. Not giving up, Waffle challenged Edi to a contest to determine who can play with Ginger for the day. Edi challenge him to a freezing contest to see who can stand still the longest, but Waffle has a hard time standing still and Edi keeps winning the contest every time Waffle challenge her. When Waffle finally wins the contest and gets to play with Ginger, he notices Edi is sad that he decides to give Ginger back to her. He tells her that it is not his kind of toy and likes it better when Edi was playing with it.

Waffle the Cow-Monkey is upset because he can't remember where he lost his cowboy hat. Edi the Zebra becomes Inspector Squid since squids can move backward. She shows Waffle how to find anything by simply retracing your steps through your day. To helped Waffle learned to move backwards, Edi declares Waffle as Deputy Hummingbird since hummingbirds can also move backwards. After much searching, they found the hat with the DJs, who were making a box for Waffle to store it in. It turns out that Waffle gave them the hat to them at the beginning of the show so he would not lose it.

Waffle wants to give his mother a great hug. He and Edi teach about hugging (Waffle is especially proud of his "Most Amazin' Pleasin' Mondo Lovin' Super Hug"). They talk about the appropriate times to hug, and the DJs play songs about hugging. Waffle also demonstrated a number of different hugging techniques, including "The Spaghetti Hug," "The Alien Birthday Hug," and "The Octopus on a Unicycle Hug." He gets so worked up in his presentation that he ties himself into knots. Edi suggests that Waffle concern himself less with how he hugs and more with the feelings that are attached.

It's DJ Appreciation Day on Animal Jam! Everything is going according to plan until Waffle's baby sister Pancake inadvertently tears into the gift Edi prepared for the DJs.

Edi is upset by this, until Waffle suggest she let her anger out rather than bottling it up inside. When Pancake continues to cause mayhem on the set, Edi and Waffle learn that some problems are better handled by confronting the problem itself. Pancake's strength is put to good use when the DJs open their gift -- it's a Tunemobile wagon, which Pancake pushes while the DJs ride.
