Come for the opinion, stay for more opinions. Hey, how's it going? I'm Johnny. Pretty laid back individual who enjoys a good cup of coffee, long walks on the beach--oh and review games old and new. That last one is what I'm really here for, but sometimes I also like to dabble in podcasts and cartoons if I really have the time for it. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the show. https://www.youtube.com/user/SomecallmeJohnny/featured

2012x01 Johnny vs. Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2

  • 2012-05-31T04:00:00Z20m

The latest episode of the Sonic 4 saga is here! With the return of a trusted sidekick and an evil doppelganger, does Episode 2 contain all of the necessary ingredients to make a game worthy enough to be a sequel to Sonic The Hedgehog 3? Let's hope so.

Time for some Dragon Ball action; this is a review I've been meaning to do after finishing up Batman: Arkham Asylum, but I didn't have enough time to finish it up before moving on to other projects.

It's time for the last Metroid game to review, Ladies and Gentlemen, and it's my longest one yet (Metroid games like to do that with me). Okay, well, there's technically three other games to look at too, but the main attraction here is Metroid Prime 3. Retro Studios has brought the First Person Adventure to the Nintendo Wii, so with added motion controls, how does the final game in the trilogy hold out? Let's find out.

Month of Pokémon begins! It's time to look at the first ever Pokémon games I've ever played, and the reason I became a fan in the first place. Generation 1 introduces us to the basic formula of how a Pokémon game works, but does it still hold up today? Should you even waste your time? Let's see and find out.

2012x05 Johnny vs. Pokémon Stadium

  • 2012-09-11T04:00:00Z20m

Next up on Month of Pokémon is a title I always wanted to own during my Pokémon craze, but never got a chance to do so. Pokémon Stadium allowed players to let their favorite pocket monsters fight in full 3D, but over 12 years after its release, is Pokémon Stadium for the Nintendo 64 still worth playing?

If you grew up with Pokémon in the late 90s and early 2000s, you most likely delved into this as well. What was probably my most expensive hobby before Yu-Gi-Oh entered the scene, the Pokémon Trading Card Game challenged players to build decks and compete to be the very best. Of course, I never did any of that, I just wanted the pretty cards.

This video is done a bit differently than the rest, as it's more of a reminiscence of the cards themselves, with three guys talking about their experiences with the game itself. I begin to describe the actual card game and how it works at around the 12:07 mark.

With that said, see you guys next week with Pokémon Snap for the Nintendo 64

2012x07 Johnny vs. Pokémon Snap

  • 2012-09-03T04:00:00Z20m

It's time for another Pokémon entry for the Nintendo 64. Pokémon Snap lets you take control as Todd Snap as you coast your way through over 7 levels, taking pictures of every Pokémon you can see. There's no RPG or battling here, folks, but is the game still fun?

The finale of Month of Pokémon has finally arrived, and it's my longest review yet. Didn't Black and White 2 come out today as well? How accidentally appropriate. Anyway, it's time to look at the next Generation of Pokémon games after Red, Blue, and Yellow; Gold, Silver, and Crystal. With Ted and Ryan from Brain Scratch Commentaries by my side, let's take a look at the Pokémon games I couldn't wait to get my hands on nearly 12 years ago.

2012x09 Johnny vs. Batman: Arkham City

  • 2012-10-24T04:00:00Z20m

It's been over a year since it's initial release, but that's not gonna stop me from reviewing it anyway. I think I made it clear that I thoroughly enjoyed Batman: Arkham Asylum, and I certainly wasn't alone with that feeling, but with the sequel claiming to be bigger and better than it's predecessor, does Arkham City truly capture the Batman experience in a way that the previous game did not? Let's watch and find out as I review the game on the Xbox 360.

2012x10 Johnny vs. Sonic Adventure

  • 2012-11-12T05:00:00Z20m

Oh boy, it's time for more Sonic. Back in November of 2008, I originally did a few quick Sonic reviews showcasing all of Sonic's 3D titles. I ended up deleting those videos because I always wanted to give the games full-out reviews and my opinions since then have changed dramatically. It's now time to make those full reviews.

So, Sonic Adventure. Sonic's first 3D game. Released for the Sega Dreamcast over 14 years ago, does the game still hold up today? That's what we're going to find out today.

2012x11 Johnny vs. Sonic Adventure 2

  • 2012-11-21T05:00:00Z20m

Hot damn, I can't help myself with these Sonic reviews. So many things to talk about, and here I thought this review would be shorter than the Adventure 1 video!

2001 marked the 10 year Anniversary of Sonic The Hedgehog, and to celebrate, Sega released Sonic Adventure 2. Has this game aged gracefully with time? What about the story? Only one way to find out! It's time to look at one of the most discussed Sonic games of all time.

2012x12 Johnny vs. Sonic Heroes

  • 2012-12-01T05:00:00Z20m

With the Adventure series done and out of the way, it's time to review Sonic's first multiplatform title in the series, Sonic Heroes. We're looking at the Gamecube version for this video, Ladies and Gentlemen, so let's see how well this game has stood against the test of time.

2012x13 Johnny vs. Shadow The Hedgehog

  • 2012-12-17T05:00:00Z20m

Didn't YOU ever wonder how a Sonic game would handle with guns? You didn't? Well, somebody out there did, because this exists. Released in 2005, Shadow The Hedgehog focuses solely on our unfortunately amnesiac black hedgehog that makes it his goal to find the Chaos Emeralds and discover the truth about his past. Darker. Edgier. Ridiculous. It's Shadow The Hedgehog.
