6x05 Sounding

• ...es un tío grande. ¿Y si no atiende a razones?
• Bueno, tienes tu placa y tu par de pelotas, ¿no? Ahí tienes. Úsalas.
• Demonios, sí. Tengo una placa. Y unas pelotas como las Estrellas de la Muerte. Hagámoslo.

It's a weird season so far. I like the general ideas of most arcs but sadly the execution leaves much to be desired. So here are some thoughts I've had recently:

1. This is basically the Ava season with Raylan relegated to appearing now and then to yell at her for being a bad CI.
2. Why make Rachel chief if she still just hangs around in the field like nothing's changed? A wasted opportunity to show a different way of running the office and dealing with the rebellious child.
3. Boyd's hatching his BIG PLAN number 382 that's doomed to bite him in the ass once again. How does he still have his reputation? Where does he get the money to live and pay his goons?
4. The big arc of old criminals buying up land in preparation for a legal weed business is a fun idea.
5. Loretta, Dickie, and now Limehouse returning for very little reason really "aplexes" me, feels like bringing back characters for the sake of it, not because they serve a narrative purpose.
6. Sam Elliott without a moustache still looks wrong.
