With up to the minute information on Kawaii people, experiences and products, everything that "Kawaii" followers around the globe are craving to know is packed into this program.
To kick off our program’s fourth year, we report 3 Kawaii Leaders’ experiences in Tokyo! These Kawaii Leaders won out from 300 participants. They got the chance to collaborate with popular magazines, popular bloggers and fashion designers to complete their missions to create new “kawaii.” Although it seems that kawaii culture is full of fun, the girls actually experienced their ups and downs behind the scenes. We got to sneak peek into the office of a popular girls’ magazine, LARME which ignited fire on Sweet n’ Girlie style and successfully sold 200,000 copies in three years, established by a former editor of “Koakuma ageha” (koakuma-style) magazine, who started at 26 years old. In this episode we will share with you the characteristics that some of the strongest candidates have. Also, Stella who was the first round Kawaii Leader goes on a Tokyo Kawaii tour and shows us the Kawaii spots in Tokyo. Kawaii International celebrates its fifth year! This episode, we report Genderless Kawaii. Currently in Tokyo, there is a new trend amongst boys. The characteristic is “Genderless Fashion” that values “beauty.” And one of the predecessors, Usuke Devil has a lot of followers on SNS. We followed him for a day to find out how his “beauty” is created. He will teach us make-up tips and hints on how to look genderless. We have two segments this time! First we cover “It’s a Retro Revival”! On the back Souvenir Jacket, there are designed stitchings that stand out. This was made as a souvenir for soliders that came to Japan after the World War II. Later, after 1970’s it became a Japanese boys’ fashion item. And right now, it is popular amongst girls! We go undercover to find out why! The second segment is “Domo Time Capsule in the US Part1”! The Kawaii master, Sebastian Masuda and NHK WORLD collaborated together. “TIME AFTER TIME CAPSULE” is a project that Sebastian Masuda is working on. It is a hands-on participatory art project where they exhibit the time capsule in different cities of the world, and asks the participants to write a message or put in what they think is a Kawaii item in 20 years. In this collaboration, Domo, a NHK character, shaped capsule appeared! We report how it was like at the event in Washington, D.C. in America. Also it had their attention on the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade that Kawaii fans participated. Don’t miss the fun filled episode!

She is going to report the Lolita event, “Under the Sea” which is held by Street Fashion Europe.
