Amidst the shimmering heat of rotating meat, tabouleh and unlimited sauce options comes this new observational documentary series which lifts the lid on a multicultural institution, the great Australian kebab shop. This original three-part series narrated by Australian actor Shane Jacobson follows the staff and customers at two of Australia’s most popular kebab shops across three of the busiest weeks of the year leading up to Christmas. Kebab Kings delves into the lives of the kebab shop owners in Sydney and Melbourne and staff as they live the ‘Australian dream’, and explores the challenges they face when their beliefs and values come face to face with a very different culture on a daily basis.

With just over two weeks to Christmas the silly season is in full swing, but on George St, Oz Turk is unusually quiet for this time of year. With the notoriously quiet months of January and February just around the corner, former owners the Bozoglus are hoping new owners, Syrian brothers Fadi and Rami, can be more welcoming to customers. Meanwhile in Melbourne, Mustafa's mum and dad arrive from India to proudly visit Smith Kebabs for the first time. But they get a rude awakening when they witness a typical Saturday night on the front line of Australia's 'drunk-food-culture'.
