It's so predictable and cheesy, soooo CW.
It’s the one CW show with mostly Chinese actors. Yet it feels like any other CW show. Where it’s more about people discussing their feelings. Than there is action.
Why? A show with huge potential, wasted tbh.
halfway through the second episode and I just couldn't take anymore. weak main story-line even weaker subplots.
Typical CW woke nonsense. Has nothing to do with original franchise, actually this version is an insult to the original. Anyway it’s something you can have playing in the background or if you need something to waste time.
Typical CW cheesy show. Bad acting. Terrible characters. Lazy stunts. And somehow the girl becomes a Kung fu master in 3 years.
Some how this garbage will get renewed for another few seasons.
Mhmhmh, I'm interested, I liked the original Kung-fu and it's later version. On the other hand it's CW and I'm always disappointed
This latest iteration of this show really surprised me. It has some decent action and it is huge on heart. The final big fight scene in the last episode for season 1 was fun.
How I rate:1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this7-8  = I expect you will like this too9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
After over 10 episodes, I'm out.
The good? It's called kung-fu and has some well choreographed (but unrealistic) martial artsIt's slickly madeIt's not full of self centered white people
The bad? This list is longer. Its story arc as ok, it's plot is awful3 years in a monastery to learn kung fu? I doubt she would have learned to punch properlyA guy gives up a secret to protect the girl, and then within 2 minutes the baddie gives him a dagger so he can stab herEveryone is instagrammable and tremendously successful - fighting, history, software development (including, of course, being able to break into any network, and so on...)
Despite the many faults, it is addictive enough until you realise you have just wasted 52 minutes of your life over eating on awful popcorn
After watching the pilot, I must say I had higher hopes. This is aimed at a young audience, more pre-teen than young adult, but for that genre, it’s a decent watch. I had hoped it would be a contemporary spin on the original series, but, then again, I was a young teen when I was a fan of it, so maybe it is the same audience. The plot is simplistic, the fights are engaging, it will appeal to young Asian viewers, and, despite the dumbing down of some of the dialogue, I’m going to give it a passing grade. I give this series a 6 (fair) out of 10. [Action Adventure]
Honestly it’s so dumb it’s become really addictive.
Two episodes in & I just can’t watch this garbage. Really wanted to like this show but CW went overboard with their woke ass writers. Dropping this show.
It's amazing!! I just watched the first episode and I'm excited for more. I haven't seen the original but at first glance you can tell it's already more than one up from the original which had featured some yellowface. If you're looking for something new with representation and in-depth characters this show is for you!!! If you are riding on the nostalgia of white saviour narratives and yellowface this show may not be you. You may get angry for no reason like the comments I've seen so far in this comment section.
