Writing this comment a few years after the show ended, and my 5 star rating stands.
I really enjoyed the show at the beginning and enjoyed it enough to watch it (not hate watch) it through it's first cancelation. The show was cast very well, everyone played their role really well, but the constant hard line political views and commentary were just annoying. I am not political, this is not an "I find it offensive" response, I truly just found it annoying to have any political ideal thrown at me in ~75% of the scenes the star is in.
That said, I would have given it a 6 if they had not come back for a few more seasons. To start, they replaced Molly Ephraim with Molly McCook, and while I have no issue with McCook at all, both my wife and I thought she was great, something was off (and we accepted her as Mandy, roles get recast for a myriad of reasons) and we still cannot put our fingers on it, but I think McCook was dumbed down too much in the role, neither my Wife or I could imagine her as that stereotypical "dumb blonde" character.
The show dragged on, it felt like people were contractually obligated to be there, more than they wanted to be there. Just one guy's opinion, take it as you will.
Also, I missed Kaitlyn Dever, Eve was such an awesome character, and I understand the timing was bad for her (I thought I read), but her absence was noted.
great show. hated that they recasted some characters, but it is starting to work now.
Getting really Tired of The anti-Obama political rhetoric this show spouts. I don't want Political snide remarks in a sitcom. I can watch the Daily Show for that. Terribad second season.
Love this Show. Love this family. Awesome cast.
This Show is like a part of the family. I'll hate to see it go. : (
This is one of my new favorite shows. I also love the fact that they've incorporated a little bit of ham radio into the show too.
One of the last wholesome shows on TV. What the hell has this world come to?
Last Man Standing is such a great show. And yes, it does lean to the political right ideology, but that's what makes it so fresh as opposed to the liberal norm in hollyweird. And the writers are able to pull it of without coming off as preachy or virtue-signaling like so much other entertainment does these days.
I also love how the show makes fun of itself and the occasional 4th-Wall throwback to his Tool-Man-Tim days.
This sitcom would be so much better if they added jokes!
I'll Start off by thanking the "FOX NetWork" 4 pickin'up a Grilled Series! U surely Hit the JackPot gettin this series cuz I c it going a lot more seasons why not? "Tim " The ToolMan Taylor" Allen" Is Absolutely Gr8 & Been In Some of the BEST MOVIES, TV SERIES BE THERE WAS a million different shows. ANYONE EVER REMEMBER WHEN THERE WAS A SET TV Schedule Or TV Guide back in those days There wasn't series I don't believe.. But AnyWays memba when u had to wait a whole damn week if not longer just to watch the next episode!? I don't even wanna remember.. Anyways... Tim Allen AKA- Tim The ToolMan Taylor Is Gr8 in ANY SHOW & MOVIES! A+
Sucks..... another great show cancelled
I don't see where people are coming from with the Anti-Obama rhetoric. The show has characters to both ends of the political spectrum, and all of them like talking tough. I'm allergic to stupid, empty phrasemongering from both the left and the right, and I always found that the show let both sides have equal amounts of snide remarks, while keeping it all nicely tongue-in-cheek.
It's one thing to recast a character, but to recast about three of them and completely change the family (ages, etc)? Come on. How are you supposed to develop any feelings towards the characters and suspend your disbelief? Did not like the directional change for season two. What a horrible mistake the series executives made.
More anti-Obama political rhetoric... Please!
I've seen a lot of disapointing comedy shows in the last time, so I was sceptical at first if this show can hold up - but it does.
After 12 years Tim Allen is back on the screen, except he has 3 girls now :)
Love it since the halloween episode (1x04).
These bastards stole DEXTER's Kid ;D
Just so everyone knows... Last Man Standing is returning this fall on FOX! I can't wait!!! The first episode for season 7 was recorded just yesterday (8/15/2018) and will premier Friday, September 28th at 8pm Eastern. It appears to be titled "Welcome Baxters!"
Thanks to Chad Miller's Last Man Still Standing FB group for their tireless efforts to bring this show back...
Been watching and loving since day one. Plus, lots of Ham radio stuff.
Not really my cup of tea... but it will keep me busy for a while
This is in many ways "Tool Time" re-imagined. The characters of Mike and Tim share some similarities and the general setup is very much alike. Ultimately Tim is the much more likeable character.
While I enjoyed the first season I have to say that with the second season it became tedious to watch because of all the politics that kept creaping in. And this is not an issue of whether I agree or not. I don't want it to be there in the first place.
Great show. Hated that they recasted some characters but it wasn't their fault the show got canceled and then saved.
begin shooting the new season in early October for it's 9th and final season
Been watching and loving since day one. Plus, lots of Ham radio stuff.
Why is this the only TV series that never seems to be up-to-date? Episode 18 of season 7 already aired and it is still missing in the lineup. So is episode 19 that is going to air coming Friday. This has been a problem for months, and I have reported it several times.

Release dates haven't been updated for several week!
LOOOL this show is amazing. watched only plot and i'm screaming of laughter
I became a fan of this show late. Thus I enjoy its current premise of a '10s version of "All In the Family" as it's the conservative Mike Baxter alongside any liberal antagonist, particularly Ryan, Kristen's babydaddy (now husband). This sitcom has now been on long enough to be syndicated so now I get to watch the reruns on Fox58 & see the first actors who played Kristen, Ryan, & Boyd; I prefer the current actors since I've gotten used to 'em. I also like that the show's still got strong ratings yet it's on Fridays, although I also watch "The Amazing Race" & have to watch this on ABC's website. Also each character has the knack for a good zinger, especially Eve.
Why isn't it working? When you click on any episode, it shows you some random show instead of Last Man Standing!
Do yourself a favor and stop after the first season.
I was a little bit sceptic when they changed the cast for season 2, but it's really picking up and overall a very funny show. Especially the last few episodes.
Eve is my favorite! She has such a witty and humorous personality!

The show was enjoyable even though it had very predictable punchlines. I haven't seen an episode in which Mike wasn't right and/or got his way in the end. Now it's pushing political ideologies way too much.
Also funny how the supposedly dumb characters in TV or movies are very often the smartest ones in real life, kudos Molly Ephraim.
Anyway I'm done with it and let's see how long it takes until Tim Allen has his Roseanne moment on twitter.
