Although the story felt stretched out in the middle and rushed in the end, Last Resort did get a proper run and ending despite cancelation. I'm not usually a big fan of conspiracies and army / covert ops, but this was entertaining and slightly different because it kept challenging the notions of right and wrong, in a context where any action could be considered both depending on how you look at it and what your priority is.

Pilot was absolutely gripping, and I usually give zero fucks about american army stories. Goosebumps throughout. Hopefully the rest of the series follows through.
I always enjoy the first few episodes of this show and by episode 7/8 think it takes a serious nosedive in terms of interest and quality, the whole thing becoming a caricature of what it was. Of course, it got an ending but everything feels so rushed compared to the growing intensity of the first episodes that it feels a shame that they rush to give it an ending because this show deserved a better ending.
It has a lot of people I enjoy so I keep giving it a pass but this still feels like a lot of wasted potential.

It dit get a fair ending and i thought the show was great.
I would have been curious to see where they could have gone with another season in the longrun.
Also it was really nice to see that french Actress Camille de Pazzis playing in the big league.
So happy that they had enough time to film a proper ending but that never should have happened in the first place. This should have made 7 seasons just as easily as The Shield did.. this is Shawn Ryan after all.
Shame over you producers and actors: That TV show could be really good. But after the pilot it was getting more and more worse.

I really would recommend to watch the first two episodes, and than the last one. Everything else is just a wasted time.

trailers made this look really good - had a good story however just seemed to fall apart it places - seemed rushed (after reading a few posts this must have been caused it was axed - at least it had an ending i suppose.
I liked the show. The acting was good, the plot fine (but sometimes messier than I prefer) and I enjoyed the setting and humanity of everything - buuuuut the ending was just horrible. I get that they had to wrap it up quickly, but leaving THAT many loose threads is just not okay. It was poorly written and nothing could save that.
Too bad.
It's been cancelled unfortunately. They will however air the rest of the remaining 6 episodes of season 1. I hope it gets a fair ending at least, if the writers can make that happen.

I kind of expected this to be homeland all over again. As someone who doesn't live in the US, those kinds of stories mostly just annoy you.
But no, this story way not about the all popular patriotism/terrorism/whatever, but an actual story that was oddly unpredictable. Time to catch up with the rest of the episodes aired so far and hopefully the appeal doesn't wash off..

That's just a fantastic concept there.
and since shawn ryan's running the show, there's no "vague" episodic miasma, all the villains will take turns seeing who can take power/control first, and nobody will end up dying until the end of the season, musical chairs style.
it's far more compelling than it should be, the pilot really sets course for all the characters at the end too. though, i was thinking LOST just due to there being ~10-12 "named" crew on a nuclear sub.
would love to see more of "America: the bad guy" and "America: the good guy" played out of shadows and off the phone, much like XIII, it's better if everyone's assumed to be corrupt until proven good or bad.
Such a great first episode, such great promise. Please don't fail like Terra Nova. At least it's already way better than Revolution (that premise could've been soooo good).
From all the trailers of new shows starting 2012/2013 this was the one I was looking most forward to. Hell, even before the trailer when ABC bought the script for this show it sounded awesome. Now after watching the first episode? Fantastic. It delivered on every level imo and there is sooooo much potential with all the warring factions at hand... not to mention those actors and the whole premise of the show. I hope so much that this will be a success and not silently killed after a few episodes/it's first season. Can't wait for the next episode!
