8.5/10. As usual, Oliver & Company add a great deal of perspective and wit to the news of the week. Their handling of Scalia's death, and not only the hypocrisy of the senators suggesting delay, but the way in which it actually runs counter to Scalia's own principles of interpretation was unique and clever. The Chipotle segment was pretty fluffy stuff, but it was fun so it gets a pass.

The main segment on Voter ID laws was an incisive and entertaining look at the topic as well. Again, Oliver does a good job of mixing humor and information in the same segment to where you're learning and laughing at the same time. I do think there's a certain false equivalence between proxy voting and voter ID laws, and the point was strong enough without that part of the segment, but it was still good stuff.

And lastly, the New Zealand politician getting his in the face with a dildo, and the ensuing comedy spin out from it was, again, not super substantive, but it was quite hilarious, so that's a win too. All-in-all, a quality episode.

That was a very good start of the new season. I loved the first season more than the second (especially in the middle where it was waning) so this was a nice surprise. Will definitely keep watching!
