[8.3/10] Good episode. Oliver was unusually apocalyptic about the Supreme Court news, and the polite curling teammates for Canada Day was cute. Also, the montage of news stories about crazy animals in Florida was amusing.
But the main story, on gene editing, was the real highlight here. It struck the right balance of informative and normative for me, with some solid info about how gene editing works and what the ethical concerns are, while also doing some of the "tourism of the ridiculous" that the show does well, and injecting some of Oliver's signature brand of comedy with the extended bit about the mouse going on a date with a tick. It had all the ingredients I like in a LWT segment, and it struck a good balanced tone even it verged on alarmism at time. Overall, one of the better main stories we've had in a while.
