i honestly can't blame this episode for being as terrible as it is given their guest stars but i will say it makes a great parody episode

This cringe fest was only redeemed by the hilarious absurdity of it all. The writers were completely clueless, evident by the constant definition dropping of EVERY. SINGLE. jargon term revolving around the internet and video games. At its best, it's funny, misguided and misinformed. At its worst, it's SJW propaganda.

Stray observation: Although it was before the accusations, Tobuscus showing up on SVU is the definition of irony.

Oh god, the Gamergate episode, lmao. I forgot this existed.
There's too many terrible things about this episode to list. But chief among them would be having Ice-T namedrop Kotaku and also give the full title of a Civ 5 expansion, all in one sentence. Ice-T actually does play video games, so he's not completely clueless, but it doesn't matter who says it. It sounds so awkward and doesn't belong in a TV show.

Even if you were to try to take this episode seriously, it fails on so many levels. The victim immediately cracks a joke about being assaulted ("they leveled up"). Carisi and Fin joke about camping right after Fin fatally shot the criminal. And then the woman developer quits her job, or in other words, caves to the mob. Like, what the fuck is the message here?!

She's stupid. She has been warned. Although this episode probably seems weird but I do believe stubbornly stupid people exists until they learned their lessons and some never got it right. Besides, nowadays, there are really a lot of weird people who can't differentiate between reality and virtual.

I can't wait for CSI Cyber for more of this awkward (funny) shit.
