Compared to The Originals this show is shit.
Goodbye! While the final season was all over the place especially after the multiple breaks … it is now understandable why it happened that way: sudden cancellation when they have planned for it longer … not easy to suddenly cut it short.
Hopefully we'll see another spin-off of the original franchise and see character cameos to connect the worlds/series.
Again, thank you Legacies actors and staff! It has been a very fun ride!
someone that never saw the originals or vampire diaries... but liked teen wolf ( 1st seasons only ) , should see this?
Having just recently first time watched and binged the entire Vampire Diaries > Originals > Legacies thru season 4 series universe, Legacies certainly lacks the overall character quality and interest appeal of the 2 previous shows. Show does have it's moments, but you can clearly see the too common modern day trend in TV here of politics being the trumping element in any good story/writing approach. Especially in the latter seasons, where the show's storylines come across more as the "Look how WOKE and DIVERSE this show is that is airing on our network!" first vehicles they are then something that is actually trying to keep or even re-capture the core elements of what made the first 2 shows appealing to it's target audience.
That said, for fans of the 2 previous shows it's still worth the watch just based on the continued familiarity of some of the characters.
I know some people don't love the idea of monsters and lore but it fits really well and expands the universe in a way that works - why can witches, wolves and vampires exist but not other mythical creatures? Vampires and wolves come from magic, but other magical creatures are where things don't make sense?!?!?!
It's younger than VD and Originals because they are all in school in this series and are exploring topics about growing up and you guessed it... Learning (as one does in school). Yes, Hope is the all-powerful tribrid but she's also a teenage girl and I think the show balanced those two things well.
The last season was super messy but it's understandable and they did the best they could with what they knew. I'm guessing the Gods were supposed to expand over a season or two rather than essentially a few episodes.
I'll truly miss this show and hope the universe can expand into something else. I would love a spin-off with Jed and Ben exploring the Gods as we've only just touched on it and I think the entire thing was rushed due to the cancellation and we could have delved deeper into the lore.
Will really miss this show but it's definitely on my rewatch list!
This licence is dead... Low budget, teenagers issues all the time. I loved the Originals but this... Trying to make more money based on just a name with no budget, no ideas, no talent... Forget about it
Shame it only has 4 seasons, which instead deserves 7 or 8.
Real shame they cancelled this show, It has its problems but was so good what it can do at its best and Caroline didn't get her chance to be in it properly. What a sad show End I . I mean Ending (why can't I delete my text in this comment?)

After The Originals this is just embarrassing. Is it a drama or a comedy? Do the scriptwriters even know? Are the monsters supposed to be taken seriously? Is this show meant for anyone older than 12?

Hope, the main character is just so boring, the others aren't that great either.
This show's saving grace is the eccentric Lizzie Saltzman (Jenny Boyd), the only reason to watch season 2.

This show is such a dissapointment. Destroys the "Legacy" of both TVD and TO..... trying to make something live on did not work here if you ask me.

Anyone looking to start this show. Watch season 1 & skip the rest. 1st season was good. 2nd was just ok. And 3rd season is a load of boring crap. Typical CW garbage, starts strong & takes a sharp nose dive in to pile of shit.
Rich characters, riveting story arcs, and talented actors.

I hope Season 4 is not the last. Them guesting the characters from the prequels smell like this is a farewell to the franchise.
This show is so far removed from the lore of TVD and The Originals. The plot is simply ridiculous and 9 episodes in I'm finding it very hard to like any of the new characters.
I hope Klaus comes on the show Atleast once

The Vampire Diaries set the world of witches, vampires and werewolves while delivering an epic love story. The Originals told the story of the first vampires. It’s an incredibly interesting world and mysterious lore.
This show forgets all about that to focus in low-budget beings nobody asked: Dragons, Gargoyles, Talking-trees and Genies, all of which working for the most stupid villain so far: One giant tar pit.
Hope is for sure one of the most interesting beings in all the three shows. They spent years teasing this almighty child. Turns out she’s just a boring student in a school for horny teens.
This show is nothing but a disappointment.
