Les Misérables 2018

I prefer the musical but this was great as well. I've read the book and it was pretty much spot on! (compared to other adaptations).

I saw the movie version of this a few years back when it was originally released & thought it was...fine. But I must say, I really thought this BBC adaptation of the story was really good. Very well written, acted & produced. One I`d recommend most definitely.

honestly. this is way more boring without the songs.

Not the musical, not the novel, but a good reworking of the story. This 6 episode miniseries runs a little slow but good casting and solid performances give us characters worth investing in, over time. Consistent with BBC period dramas, the costumes and reconstructions are spot on. Consistent with Victor Hugo, the world is dangerous, inhuman and unjust but the arch of the narrative is about redemption. I give this series an 8 (well done) out of 10. [Classic Period Drama]

I watched this via Foxtel

Super well done. I love that it has the time to really flesh the characters out and give us a better sense of their motivation.

Amazing. I remember seeing the original broadway production in my younger days. This adaptation was well done. Do miss the songs though. Highly recommend it.

Some great performances in this series. I really liked the female leads as they commanded your attention and were able to make you feel for them.

I wasn’t as convinced by the male leads. I like a lot of what Dominic West has done, I just feel he is the same person each time. I had a hard time seeing him as the character he was meant to portray.

Overall a really well done adaption. I am not a huge musical fan, so this suited me a lot more.
