Brilliant show. A must see
Loved it from the first second!
Not for me. The plot is not too interesting and the sense of humor seems to mostly be mostly about materialistic stuff and rather derogatory to women.
It's a spectacular series, for me it's an 8/10. It is different from many others because it happens in a country like Norway very different from what series usual bring to us. It is funny and curious to see a gangster like Frank coming from the US, accustomed to a certain reality, to integrate into a country as civilized as Norway. At the same time that the series presents us the drama and the crime manages to have many parts of comedy. The show has phenomenal casting, highlighting the role of Steven Van Zandt.
This show was slept on by a lot of people. Netflix needs to bring the series back.
must watch this show if you like organize crime
(are any more episodes gonna be made?)
it was a fun show and I hate that it got canceled. It could have gone on for a few more seasons.
[Netflix] The first original show produced by Netflix, it has a black sense of humor that is its greatest attraction. It works best in the first season, which takes good advantage of the mob's contrast to the norms of Norwegian society, but in the next two seasons it's lost in absurd situations. Although it has a great nostalgic episode as a tribute to the E Street Band and Bruce Springsteen's cameo.
A wonderful Steve Van Zandt make fun of his mobster roles by moving the henchman from his "safe" environment in New York to the cold and different location of Norway. Excellent (at least in it's first season) with a fun view on the unique and special society that is Norway and it's naive smiling characters while putting some fingers on some of the strange government rules that we have. Some unique supporting characters of a type not seen in this kind of series before. Spontaneous and sudden moment of violence that both surprises and are darkly funny help out. When the series was spiced up for season 2 (in order to sell it to more Americans) it also lost it's most quirky and original side as several Norwegians was either written out or skipped for a pure mafia comedy series that make fun of British and Latino street gangsters which is not at all as interesting as the producers or van Zandt thought. There is also a stupid long-running subplot at the end where the most annoying and overacting character in the series, a British hooligan mobster, returns as a hallucination and sick manifestation that is close to ruin the show completely. Final episode of series has some definitive endings but also one major cliffhanger involving a murder that will not be resolved and gives this show a bitter-sweet feeling. Maybe a reunion movie would have been in place?
a fair show to watch. and to all Norwegians out there, the full season 3 is out for free for us at the NRK website.
