2014x04 MSI GTX 780 Lightning

2014x04 MSI GTX 780 Lightning

  • 2014-01-05T23:00:00Z8m

My review and unboxing of the GTX 780 Lightning from MSI - possibly the beefiest non-limited-edition single GPU graphics card I've ever encountered...

The Aorus X7 is a premium, all aluminum construction gaming notebook made by Gigabyte with some SERIOUS performance inside its slim, sleek body.

Synaptics is one of those brands that have a hand in so many devices you use everyday yet most people wont know who they are... Either way we happened to walk by their booth by chance(all good things happen this way don't they) and noticed they had some pretty cool touch pad tech to show off! My favorite is the touch pad replacement for windows 8 touch functionality.

Project Christine might be the craziest thing we've seen at CES. It's a concept for a fully modular gaming PC with swappable oil cooled components, and a beautiful, silent design.

I am actually quite interested in the TrackR by Phone Halo because I lose my keys CONSTANTLY... I have seen a few implementations of this over the years but I really like the feature set and price point of the TrackR and I will definitely look into picking one up in the near future!

The obvious comparison would be to the Parrot AR.Drone, but this product is in a completely different price and performance class!

BeQuiet didn't surprise me with the product categories they were expanding products into but they did surprise me with their new line of cheap fans. It is exciting to see such a product because BeQuiet is known for their impeccable German engineering... Lets just hope the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

The Mini Drone and Jumping Sumo remote controlled vehicles are on display from Parrot at CES

Eton showed off the Ruckus Extreme, a better rugged bluetooth speaker, the FRX Series of radios with 4 different ways to power them, and a smart carbon monoxide detector.

The Fitbug Orb removes the excuses normally associated with not using a fitness tracking device by having a battery that last for weeks rather than days, being low cost, and having many different ways to keep it attached!

In MSI's component suite we saw the R9 290X Lightning, their new GTX 760 ITX optimized graphics card, and their new updates to the Gaming series.... AMD Kaveri boards!

Razer's Nabu Smart Band combines some of the benefits of a smart watch with some of the benefits of a fitnes band, while the Adaro series of headphones includes FOUR new products that were announced just before the show.

The Wellness Watch from Wellograph does more than just tell the time and let you receive text messages and whatnot. It also monitors your activity and sleep, then with its companion app gives you a plethora of a great stats on your overall well-being

I think the Steiger Dynamics Maven will hit a price point that many more people will be able to enjoy. The price drop along with the additional configuration options make this a very attractive option indeed.

Mionix brought a lot to the table this year. Their new induction charging mouse is extremely exciting an their Nash headsets are extremely comfortable and as far as I could tell with the limiting testing that I could do they happen to sound great as well

I am seriously excited for their digital monitoring fanless power supply... Digital monitoring was always kinda cool but I never REALLY cared that much until I saw this unit. Being able to check up on a fanless power supply is awesome and I hope it helps to put some fears to rest.

Long sotry short, Corsair's RGB backlit Cherry MX keyboard is unbelievable.

EVGA showed us the Hadron Hydro, and the GTX 780 Ti K|NGP|N Edition. Not only that, but holy crap they have a mouse now! The Torx X10 looks quite promising.

MSI Showed us updated version of existing models as well as a super secret one. They also showed off their new gaming all-in-one PCs!

Corsair George shows us the Graphite Series 760T. It looks freakin' sick.

Corsair showed us a lot of cool stuff in their suite including the Obsidian 250D, the Graphite 730T and the M45 and K40 from their Vengeance lineup!

The keyboard market is going to be interesting for the next little while with corsair blowing up the market with their Cherry RGB switches. Will people care about fixed wrist rests or rainbows?

Fuel+ has been very successful for Patriot and they're now expanding the line!

Get Linus to do the unboxing once we're back!

Will the story of the Reserator 3 Max Dual be one of redemption? Will the Zalbar win you a court case? Will the Z15 literally turn into a lambo? We will see...

Aftermarket 290's are looking more attractive than possibly any other aftermarket card in the past... And I welcomed Trixx onto my bench marking machines with open arms after the update.

ADATA had a 2TB SSD, working DDR4 modules, and a bunch of new designs for RAM sticks.

While a 5yr warranty isn't AS bold of a statement on a mechanical keyboard due to how long they last it is still very cool to see Thermaltake stand that strongly behind their product.

I love NAS systems and in the growing world of cloud storage and snooping eyes I feel like i lean more on the personal cloud side of things... With easy management setups like this I can see myself and my family adopting personal cloud with ease

I may have been a little more excited by the fact that I was using a 1080p Oculus for the first time but I really appreciated this demo and can't wait to see even more technology come out that complements the Oculus so well.

Sennheiser gave us a tour of the booth to show us their new G4ME One and Zero gaming headsets and their new Pro series HD6 Mix, HD7 DJ, and HD8 DJ headphones.

Samsung was showing off a 105" curved UHD TV along with their Galaxy Note Pro.

The Define R4 Blackout is very similar to the regular Define R4, but... all black. Mind. Blown.

Cooler Master showed us the Elite 110, Novatouch TKL Topre keyboard, and their Alcor & Mizar optical and laser gaming mice

I'm covering a BMW i3? I don't review cars! Is anyone out there? HELP! I'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED AN REPLACED BY AN IMPOSTOR!

ASUS has a hybrid air/water cooled GTX 780 here, and a 780 Ti coming. They also showed off a couple of next generation interfaces: Thunderbolt 2, and SATA Express!

Linksys is back, baby. The WRT-1900AC is coming!

NSA ties or not Bitcoin is blowing up. Are you going to fight for your coins using things like Butterfly Labs cards or are you just going to trade them using a Bitsafe type device? Or neither?

Cooler Master wants your feedback on the upcoming HAF XC and HAF Stacker accessories.

At LG's booth we showed off their 5K UHD 21:9 TV, their flexible TV, and the Lifeband Touch!

ASUS showed a desktop PC with NFC and a wireless Qi charging pad built in, as well as the Transformer P1802 and the RT-AC87U router

Yup. I'm gonna be all over this kickstarter! There are many ideas built into this that I really enjoy. The ability to just snap it back together with magnets and play normally is great and being able to rip your controller apart to beat some jerk over the head must be satisfying.

ASUS showed us their Transformer Book Duet TD300, a notebook/tablet that can switch between Android and Windows, the new G750GZ gaming notebook, and the upcoming Vivotab Note 8.

Corning showed us thier new Gorilla Glass 3 that contains an anti-microbial agent and their Thunderbolt and USB3 compatible fiber optic cables

This is not a specific device but it is more a technology that utilizes ultrasound and could be added into other devices like tablets, smartphones, monitors, etc.

The Toq from Qualcomm is going to be my next smartwatch from what I've seen. I love the display, I love the form factor.... My unit should be in the mail shortly!!!

Oculus showed off their new HD prototype with head tracking and it's absolutely amazing.

The Audio Technical ATH-AG1 and ATH-ADG1 are (from first impressions) pretty good sounding, but that's not even the best thing about them I think. For a built-in gaming headset these things have AMAZING microphones. Really looking forward to doing a review for y'all!

The StickNFind is available in everything from a 7 month battery model the size of a watch battery to one with a 9 year battery!

My Cloud from Western Digital is the way to keep control of your own digital files rather than trusting a nameless, faceless corporation with the task of taking care of them. No monthly service fees or bandwidth limits.

Whose cuisine will reign supreme? Ahem, sorry... Linus let me write the description for him and I'm hungry...Ahem*... Whose gaming laptops will reign supreme?

Project Spark honestly looks amazing... Personally I just wish it was on windows 7! Some of the games that we were able to demo were incredibly well refined and its still in beta. I also hope they open it up for people to import their own graphics.

Many of us look around in video games specifically with the center of our screen especially because the name of the object may highlight if we do so... it could be pretty nice if we could loot while staying combat ready with our aim at the oncoming enemy!

If I had a 3D candy printer I would make a ton of gaming themed candy for game launches and bring them to the line ups outside my local game store :)

Intel Iris Graphics at CES! Big ones small ones some as big as your head... Yup, Linus let me write this description too! And I'm still hungry.

Holy crap I want a 3D printer... and the selection from 3DSystems was great! I still hesitate though because my wallet is quite afraid... Maybe one day little wallet... Maybe one day...

These Dell 4k Monitors have made it into WAN show news articles twice and with good reason... These RELATIVELY affordable 4k monitors looks beautiful in every way.

2014x64 Stern Pin-Ball - CES 2014

  • 2014-01-13T23:00:00Z8m

SORRY FOR THE AUDIO! This was on the first day, we fixed it soon afterwards ^_^

Viewing content on this device is surreal, If I was a jet setter I would definitely consider this device. OR if I happened to have a spouse I could see this device coming in handy as I could watch movies while in bed in incredibly high quality and detail without disturbing my partner.

The Crate Computer is a reasonably quiet (although with a little modding it could be quieter), extremely compact, and high performance All In One gaming system. It far surpasses what can be achieved by other AIO's by using aftermarket, gaming-grade components throughout!

2014x67 HTC One Max Phablet

2014x67 HTC One Max Phablet

  • 2014-01-16T23:00:00Z8m

My review of the HTC One Max comes from the perspective of someone who has never actually used a phablet before. It was definitely a little different!

The Poseidon from Tt eSports (Thermaltake) may be one of the best value mechanical keyboards on the market. There are cheaper off-brand options out there, but this one delivers solid BIOS compatibility (something I made sure to try), solid build quality and a nice, bright backlight for a low, low price!

2014x69 LG G2 Review with Slick

  • 2014-01-19T23:00:00Z8m

The LG G2 might not be the newest thing ever, but some of the paradigm shifting concepts like its rear buttons still merit some discussion.

2014x70 Parrot Flower Power

2014x70 Parrot Flower Power

  • 2014-01-20T23:00:00Z8m

My Flower Power review is here! This may be the ultimate "Mom or Dad gadget", so if you're looking to get a jump on your Mothers' Day or Fathers' Day shopping... Get to it... Also prepare to spend a little more than you were planning...

My unboxing & review of the Corsair Obsidian 250D is here! I hope you guys enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed this tiny little gaming devil of a case.

WOW this is late... Anyways - I hope you guys enjoyed the Kingston rapid fire technology showcase. Let it be known that when Linus is intentionally trying to troll you it is really hard to act normal and serious. That is all.

2014x74 NZXT H440 Quiet PC Case

  • 2014-01-23T23:00:00Z8m

My review/unboxing of the NZXT H440 is out! I actually really like this case. A LOT. I've spent some more time with it during B-roll shooting and taking the system back apart and it's grown on me even more since this video was made.

2014x75 Oculus Rift Overview

2014x75 Oculus Rift Overview

  • 2014-01-24T23:00:00Z8m

I love the Oculus Rift, I love where VR is going, and I can't wait for more... Speaking of which, I will be doing my first long form written review in the next while... time permitting... so stay tuned on the forum for that! Useful Oculus links below!

The MobileLite Wireless from Kingston is finally a wireless streaming drive that just plain works and makes sense.

2014x77 Phanteks Enthoo Primo

  • 2014-01-27T23:00:00Z8m

My unboxing and review of the Phanteks Enthoo Primo - their first case - is here. This case really impressed me, but the weight and size might be a turn off for some people.

2014x78 Func HS-260 Gaming Headset

  • 2014-01-27T23:00:00Z8m

My review of the HS-260's from Func covers build quality, ergonomics, and of course how good they sound. Overall, while gaming headsets are not something I use personally, I found them to be a solid offering when I compared them to competing products.

The Nintendo Wii-U was not what made me tired. And I'm sorry about that! We ended up filming this very early in the morning before I started to prep for the WAN show and that resulted in a very tired slick! Hopefully you enjoy it either way, I believe there are reasons to love and to hate the Wii-U and while I may feel a little of both I am happy with it overall so far.

I hate WiFi so much.... Save me, Unifi Networks....

Steam In Home Streaming from Valve might be in BETA but that didn't stop us from spending a whole lot of time learning the in's and out's of it.

2014x82 Corsair H105 Liquid Cooler

  • 2014-02-01T23:00:00Z8m

My H105 unboxing and review is here. This liquid cooler will (in a nutshell) make your CPU slightly more cool than an H100i and slightly less cool than an H110... It also has a bit of a different look to it and some cool PWM fans that are included :D

This ultimate compact gaming PC build guide shows just how much firepower can be crammed into an extremely small enclosure without unsafe temperatures! I hope you enjoy it!

Gigabyte's R9 290X is the best one we've yet tested. It appears to use a modified PCB and DEFINITELY uses a very strong non-reference cooler

We unboxed, overclocked, and benchmarked the K|ngp|n EditionGTX 780 Ti from EVGA. Honestly. I'm really impressed with this graphics card. EVGA has come so far from being a "rebrander of reference cards" company to one with some serious engineering teeth.

My unboxing & review of the Etymotic ER-4PT IEMs (earphones) is here. It's a bit of a niche product, and the reason why will be quite obvious if you watch the video, but there's no denying how amazing they sound.

To enjoy all the best vendor exclusive technologies, we built a PC that runs SLI with two GTX 780 Ti's and Crossfire with two R9 290X's at the same time. If that sounds ridiculous, that's because it is... But not because it didn't work...

The Blackmagic Cinema 2.5K camera is our newest piece of equipment. If you liked the "HD-ness" of the latest WAN show, then I guess you already like it!

Here's an unboxing/review of the Silverstone ARM22SC that I actually filmed LITERALLY months ago, but it took until now to get the B-roll footage from Edzel, so it's finally going up :p

Our unboxing & review of the GTX 780 Ti Windforce from Gigabyte reinforced an unfortunate truth about buying graphics cards. Sometimes, even if you buy a "good" card, you can get a dud overclocker :(

This is the second video in our "handy tech under $100" series. We show of four different gadgets that tickled our fancy.

The Kindle Paperwhite and eBook readers in general aren't exactly new but this is my first time really trying to use one, and while there are things I didn't exactly like, the experience won me over.

Ever wanted a hydrogen fuel cell in your pocket that you can use to charge your phone? Well now you can have one! In theory...

We use our high speed camera to measure the latency or delay introduced by the various in-home game streaming options. We include NVIDIA SHIELD, Valve STEAM OS, and Limelight!

I'm sorry this took so long, but due to the BETA nature of AMD's Mantle driver, and DICE's Mantle patch we had some difficulty doing what we set out to do... Which was to determine if, for real actual gamers out there, Mantle was going to make a difference. Some of the issues were caused by our desire to use components that were common in gaming systems (according to Valve's hardware survey) and some of the issues were caused by the BETA nature of Mantle. Either way, it's here now. I hope you enjoy it.

Our review of the GTX 750 Ti actually includes TWO cards. We've got a reference design card from NVIDIA designed for maximum compatibility and we've got a non-reference one from ASUS designed for maximum performance (spoiler alert).

2014x97 Qualcomm Toq Smart Watch

  • 2014-02-19T23:00:00Z8m

The Qualcomm Toq is the ultimate "this would be awesome if only the software..." product to me. They are several smart iterations away from it actually being a fairly kickass product, but I just don't know if they're going the right direction.

2014-02-20T23:00:00Z

2014x98 Bitfenix Colossus Mini

2014x98 Bitfenix Colossus Mini

  • 2014-02-20T23:00:00Z8m

The Bitfenix Colossus Mini takes style cues from their original Colossus and adds the more modern interior designs of the Prodigy and Prodigy M.

The GTX 780 Ti GHz Edition is a Gigabyte card featuring their Windforce cooler that is clocked significantly higher out of the box than their regular GTX 780 Ti... But does that translate into better

The CM Storm Pulse-R headset from Cooler Master is customizable, delivers very punchy bass and has super solid build quality considering its price. With all of that said, it's not without its flaws...

The DRN-STN is unlike anything I've ever seen. I loaded this badass AIO PC with a Radeon HD 7990 and a quad core processor and it didn't even blink.

2014x102 Motorola Moto G

2014x102 Motorola Moto G

  • 2014-02-25T23:00:00Z8m

The Moto G isn't new, but I would argue it's one of the handful of most important cell phones on the market today!

The Elite 110 from Cooler Master is about as small as you can expect an ITX case to be and still support water cooling and a dual slot graphics card! Oh and... up to 3x 3.5" hard drives?? Whaaa??

This is the closest you can get to the exact armor that was worn in Star Wars: A New Hope. The one that I'm showing off today

Using AMD Dual Graphics to speed up your system when you have a 7850k and an R7 250 is a no brainer

Thief 2014 video card benchmarks are here! We test all the latest gaming graphics cards to see whether AMD or NVIDIA delivers the ultimate Thief gaming experience!

The PC-Q28 is one of the most compact cases on the market, but does it have the cooling to back it up??

We expanded on the testing in our AMD Dual Graphics video to include some value optimized discrete GPUs and some other CPU platforms.

The Corsair M45 is a serious contender to FINALLY replace the Ikari Laser on my desk. It tracks like a dream, is comfortable, light, and really is just a fantastic product.

Razer's new Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 is the first mechanical gaming keyboard to use their new RAZER mechanical key switches instead of Cherry MX series ones!

My HD8 DJ review is here. Sennheiser sent this over to me for review and I was absolutely blown away by both the build quality and sound quality of this amazing piece of audio hardware.

My unboxing and review of Corsair's K40 RGB backlit gaming keyboard is here. It's a fairly. It's a competitive product in the market, and Corsair's software drivers have come a long way.

Our performance review of the Cooler Master Nepton 280L is here. It's got a massive 280mm radiator and a white lighting effect on the CPU block.

2014x114 Intel 730 Series SSD

2014x114 Intel 730 Series SSD

  • 2014-03-11T22:00:00Z8m

My overview of Intel's 730 series SSD addresses its performance characteristics and covers some of the reasons I think people should care about Intel SSDs in general.

Batman Arkham Origins video card benchmarks are here! We test all the latest gaming graphics cards to see whether AMD or NVIDIA delivers the ultimate B:AO gaming experience!

Gigabyte's BRIX line of mini PCs ranges from super tiny, to super powerful, to super versatile and everywhere in between. Today we've got one of the most unique models in the series that actually has a projector integrated into it!!

The Schiit Stack, which includes both the Magni and Modi is an extremely popular headphone amp & DAC combination that I committed to test when a viewer asked me about them.

The C720P from Acer is the first inexpensive touchscreen Chromebook and also the first of these cryptic devices that I've had the pleasure of playing with. Consider this a review of not only the device, but also my experience with Chrome OS.

My review of the 9H actually ended up more positive than I expected. It's sandwiched in between the 7H, which I really like and the Siberia Elite, which is a much more premium (and also much more expensive) product.

My review of the R9 290X Lightning from MSI is... well lots of fun if you like seeing beast graphics cards overclock like snot and kick the ass of modern games at 2560x1600!

G.SKILL memory was, at the beginning, very niche/high performance stuff at a very high price. Over the years they went from "only for extreme overclockers" to delivering great, stable mainstream RAM but they still haven't lost that niche appeal. This kit right here... Only validated on ONE board officially. So yeah, that's as niche as it gets, but that doesn't change the fact that WE think it's awesome!

The Aivia Uranium wireless gaming mouse from Gigabyte has some seriously solid ideas and awesome technology in it, but needs a little bit more refinement before it finds its way to my mouse pad. With that said, getting around some of my issues with the product is as simple as going to the Gigabyte website and using their guide to determine if this product is right for you!

My first REAL hands-on 4K experience is with the ASUS PQ321Q and let me tell you guys... When this thing has native content running on it... It is a sight to behold. Absolutely beautiful.

The Obsidian 450D from Corsair packs a phenomenal amount of liquid cooling support into a relatively small and light enclosure that also happens to be so simple to build in that my wife can do it.

2014x125 ASUS Poseidon GTX 780

2014x125 ASUS Poseidon GTX 780

  • 2014-03-26T22:00:00Z8m

The Poseidon GTX 780 from ASUS is the best implemented hybrid air/water cooled graphics card I've ever used. On top of its"on paper" capabilities, it also delivers a pretty significant overclock when you switch from air to liquid cooling, so kudos to ASUS on this one!

Our review of the Corsair Graphite 760T contains a little bit of "unboxing" action, but otherwise focuses on the ease of use and features of this absolutely striking looking case from Corsair.

We've never looked at a home & small office security system before, so this was a bit of a new adventure for us. I don't know how great it is compared to the competition, but it seems like a pretty good value for what we paid and we're definitely going to be using it.

It's half an hour of me talking about the process of building up my beast machine and the most B-roll glamour footage we've ever shot of anything... Using our new recording setup (natively recorded in 4K RAW and downsampled to 1080p prores)

The ATH-AG1 gaming headset from Audio Technica is a feat of sound engineering. It's the best gaming headset I've heard, and has the best mic I've heard on a gaming headset, but it also comes at a price that I've rarely seen on a gaming headset!

This is our second value build guide, and it also happens to be our second build guide featuring an AMD processor! In this video we walk you through how to build a computer, and also highlight some of the key features that make an APU a great value today and in the future.

This video of the MSI GS60 Ghost covers pretty much everything you need to know about this sexy and exceptionally light gaming notebook.

In this overview of the ADATA SP920 SSD I talk about the product itself a little bit, but also about the widely used practice of "rebranding" or "rebadging" in the computer industry.

My review of the Jaybird Bluebuds X... Ended up surprisingly positive. Speaking of surprises, I'll spoil one. Y'all have been asking me to show off my badminton skillz for quite some time now, and this video finally includes some (carefully selected for minimal suckitude) footage :P

To all the complainers about how many audio product videos we've done lately: Here is a flashy-pants gaming oriented motherboard for ya! You happy? :D

The Radeon R7 265 is a solid value and it slots right in between the R7 260X and R9 270 in terms of performance.

My review of the Bowers and Wilkin MM-1 speakers kicks off a series of 5 desktop speakers that I'll be checking out over the next couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy it!

Bose's Companion 5 speaker system gets the Linus Tech Tips review treatment! This is only our 2nd speaker review ever, so your feedback is welcome even if it's as simple as "stop doing speaker reviews - I don't care". We ARE going to finish our series of 5 reviews that I already worked really hard on, but your feedback will affect our direction in the future :)

My review of the HTC One M8 is here! Finally a worthy replacement for my One M7 from a year ago. This phone features a stunning ID, lightning fast performance, and aside from a couple of small complaints... is damn near as good as it gets. I hope you guys enjoy this video because I feel like now, one year into doing phone reviews, this is about as good as we can make them... It's a lot of work, but if you guys enjoy it, then it's all worthwhile....

Distance - a survival racing game with parkour cars and flying... yup you read that correctly!

The Proteus Core is a very interesting new mouse and a big step away from the G500s. Some things that I would like to add that don't seem to have made it into the final cut for this video is that having the left and right click is on two completely different pieces of plastic and are not connected at all. also that there are mechanical switches under every button not just the L and R buttons.

Oculus Rift DK2 is AWESOME. It's not the consumer version I'm hoping for mainly due to resolution but it's AWESOME and gives me very high hopes for what the CV1(The consumer version) Will be!

Galak-Z was a really exciting looking game at PAX Prime and I'm even more excited now. It's great to see that the team has been hard at working making it all it can be and I can't wait for release!

The CoolerMaster NovaToch will surprisingly be our only keyboard review of PAX East! It is really nice that this style of keyboard will now be easily available to mass market consumers!

We were told by more than one person that Kingston didn't have anything new and to not bother stopping by but we did anyways because I usually like seeing what setup they have at conventions... low and behold they had a whole new product line refresh with their "FURY" line of products! The ID on the heatsyncs for the RAM is very nice in my opinion and I must say I am a fan of the white heatsync with a black PCB!

Intel Quick Sync and OBS coming together is great - More performance is good performance and when it is backwards compatible with products you may already own that's just awesome.

The Alienware 18 is MASSIVE... luckily it packs power with its size and is able to push to a 4k display while running its 4940MX at a turbo of 4.0Ghz! It still blows my mind that they have overclocked this laptop above 5.0Ghz

Aztez is a game I have been waiting for on the edge of my seat since the moment I saw it at PAX Prime 2013 - The art style of the game is incredibly attractive and the idea of the combination of a brawler and a strategy game just seems so amazing... I'm excited!

I'M SORRY LINUS I WAS KIDDING! In all seriousness though this game looks exciting - this is why I like games in the Indie booth... Also - for those wondering... Yup - that's the voice of Nocturne!

I think the Star Citizen interview could have gone better but I was having a hard time focusing on asking good questions due to the fact that I was fan girling out so hard the whole time... I hope you guys enjoy the video!

The U28D590D or 590D for short from Samsung is the monitor that's bringing 4K into the realm of affordability for desktop users. It's 28", boasts 1ms GTG pixel response times, and support for 1B colors... But is it really as perfect as it seems??

I've never heavily used NFC, and it wasn't until Tagger sent us a box of their tags to dink around with that I really looked into some of the amazing stuff you can do with it. This video serves as an example of some sensible things you can do with them and... some other stuff...

I'd like to begin by thanking the folks in the Hackintosh community who made this possible

Simple Audio's Listen took 6 months to review because I had to actually figure out how to evaluate the product before I could go ahead and produce a review of it.

The G750JZ from ASUS is the latest in their RoG series of notebooks. Its performance is more comparable to a desktop than a typical notebook though, and I have to say I was very impressed by the price:performance ratio of this little guy. I use the word "little" figuratively though. It's kinda beastly. In every way.

AMD's R9 295X2 is the most powerful single graphics card on the planet.... It's not even close....

I thought I cared about 4K... And for a while I truly did. Now I have this, and I don't remember why 4K ever mattered... Welcome to my review of the LG 34UM95.

The Fugoo Sport Bluetooth speaker is extremely expensive, but it also comes with some great features to set it apart from the crowd... some of which may actually be worth the price tag..

The Logitech G502 Proteus Core is... Actually pretty freakin' sweet. It uses an all new sensor, and features some ergonomic tweaks to the traditional Logitech mouse shape that I really like. This mouse is a SERIOUS contender for your money.

The NVIDIA Tegra Note 7 isn't exactly new, but it's definitely new for Luke so we had him try out a tablet for the first time.

The Linksys WRT1900AC picks up where the old WRT54G left off.... or at least Linksys hopes it will... Watch the video to learn more...

The Western Digital My Passport Pro might be the drive that was built for me and my team... It's fast, redundant, and extremely well-built with a solid aluminum enclosure.

I'm not John Lennon, so I'll refrain from comparing this heatsink to Jesus in any way... But I will say that it walks on water... cooling solutions, so interpret that however you will.

Lumio is a truly exceptional product - one that I wouldn't see myself using every day, but certainly one whose design and beauty I can appreciate.

With the rising popularity of mechanical keyboards based on switches manufactured in China by Kailh versus being manufactured in Germany by Cherry, I figured it would be a good idea to take a look at one!

Audioengine's follow up to the immensely popular A2 desktop speakers - the A2+ has gotten the Linus Tech Tips review treatment!

Recently I reviewed LG's 34UM95 - Subjectively the best monitor I've ever used.

Stick N Find Bluetooth trackers allow you to find stuff you've lost (keys, luggage, cats, etc) by basically playing a game of "hot & cold"

Fractal Design's Node 804 is a surprisingly thoughtful re-imagining of a case category that I thought was already pretty mature. The front bezel in particular makes use of what would normally be wasted space in a way that I think is incredibly cool.

The ML05 from Silverstone is physically about as small as it gets without resorting to weird things like external power supplies... And it's REALLY cool... But the challenge for me is that I just don't know WHO this case was built for...

A dashcam is a great idea because you can't always rely on a witness to prove that an accident wasn't your fault. Here's the one I picked up :)

OGSSAA is a type of anti aliasing that involves sending a higher-than-native resolution signal to your monitor, then downsampling it to native resolution to improve image quality. It won't help with text, but for gaming you may be surprised at the difference!

The Rapid-I from CM Storm (Cooler Master) has some sweet lighting modes, and solid build quality to go along with its Cherry MX mechanical switches and repeat rate control.

The Sensei Wireless contains the best wireless technology Steelseries could put in it - and frankly based on my experience with the H Wireless I had pretty high expectations for that - and includes some key improvements over the wired version that may have existing Sensei owners considering an upgrade, but I feel like they missed an opportunity here by using a laser sensor instead of an optical one with no acceleration.

Audioengine's A5+ speakers... yeah this is my review of them. I can spoil the surprise a little bit here though if you're clever enough to read the descriptions of videos before you watch them. They're pretty freakin' smurf...

The ASUS Z97-WS is the kind of product that really feels like it was "designed for me". No BS. Just rock solid.

I switched back to the iPhone and wanted to give my unbiased thoughts on Android versus iOS now that I have at least a year of experience on each platform.

The Gigabyte Z97X-SOC FORCE delivers about as many overclocking optimized features as you could want on a motherboard. Seriously it takes me like 4 minutes to say what they all are and what they do...

Data Storage 3-2-1 is an important guideline and Synology NAS can help you meet the requirements in a elegant and scalable way - Are there others methods if reaching data storage 3-2-1 requirements that you would like us to try? Tell us in the comments below!

The MK IV from Little Dot is a relatively inexpensive tube amplifier for your headphones that looks great and sounds great, but does comes with the usual tube amp caveats!

The Plextor M6e SSD uses the new M.2 standard to break free from the limitations of SATA, but it does so in a fairly interesting way by arriving pre-attached to a PCIe 4x add in card so that you won't have trouble finding something it'll fit in.

At about the same pixel density as a 24" 1920x1200 display, but much larger and higher res, the BL3200PT looks like it should be an obvious winner, right? Watch on to see our full review!

So.. The personal rig update I have been dreading is here. I'll fix this. I'm sorry Squirtle... I'll do well by you eventually

This is a solid case for a gamer or really anyone with a pretty powerful PC that needs solid cooling and features, and it comes in at a pretty solid price point with looks that I personally think are a strong selling point.

ASUS has knocked it out of the park with the PB287Q. This monitor is suitable for casual content creation, gaming, productivity, and pretty much anything else you can think of. If it's time to go 4K, then it's time to go find whichever retailer has the best price on the PB287Q.

Watch_Dogs may be less than optimized in its current state... What will the future hold?

Corsair's AX1500i is the finest beast of a power supply that we've ever seen... So after admiring its perfection for 8 minutes we flung it off the roof with a slingshot.

There are a number of advantages and disadvantages to running a single more powerful GPU or multiple less powerful GPUs, but we've never really had an opportunity to investigate them in the context of a laptop! Here we go!

Gaming motherboards... Are they all the same now? Gigabyte hopes not. Do you think this quad SLI ready beast has what it takes to stand out from the crowd??

The Modmic has always been a good idea. Now it's actually a good product too! Here's my review.

The V series of semi-modular power supplies from Cooler Master is aiming at folks who are willing to pay a reasonably premium for solid build quality and great after-sales support.

Noctua is back in black. Finally they're here. You can have the best fans available and have your eyes not fall out of their sockets from the ugly. Did I mention they're water and dust resistant???

The EN760 series from Zotac is officially MUCH smaller than a current gen console AND it performs better in games! That didn't take long....

Star Citizen is (sorta) here! It's (sorta) playable! And as long as you're a backer you can get into the (pre) alpha dogfighting module and check it out!!!

This is the third video in our "handy tech under $100" series. We show off three different gadgets that tickled our fancy.

I left my laptop out in the rain. Here are the steps I went through to try to resurrect it.

Hey HyperX can I set up a cot in the corner of your LAN room? That would be greaaaat thaaaaaaanks.

Different experiences like Xing are something I have been very excited for when it comes to gaming on the rift! I can't wait to try this out extensively!

Are you full of FURY over drive prices? Well possibly no more!

Holy crap I didn't expect the Sova... We came across this keyboard by random chance while covering the Alienware Alpha(spoilers) and it was just way too cool to pass up!

Bounden is great... Not a traditional game at all but I'm sure you will have a ton of fun if you try it with the right people... and maybe even more with the right person ;)

ControlVR... I want it. I want it now. I can't WAIT to incorporate this into my VR setup... definately the biggest missing link at this point in time! I am SUPER excited to see where they go with this device in a couple years with haptic feedback!

Alienware Alpha. What now "Next-Gen" consoles? Alienware really hit it home on some key points with this computer mainly in the form factor space.

I was more than excited to interview Palmer Luckey and I'm excited to know for sure that he is on the crusade to end the crap excuse that is 30FPS!

SO MANY NINTENDO GAMES! I feel like instead of Nintendo releasing too little too late they released a TON of stuff JUST on time... Super excited for the next few years of Wii-U :D

The black and green H440 was pretty sweet looking but the continued improvements to the Razer Blade are REALLY cool.

VR games need to be designed FOR VR to really be a great experience - we need a properly developed platform for developers to jump for this opportunity! I'm excited to see what the future holds!

Top 5 gaming announcements! Tons happened this year at E3 and we had a fantastic time! Thanks for watching the videos everyone and if you have any feedback please feel free to message me on the forum or on twitter! :D

The Phantom 530 from NZXT is one of the best designed cases I've ever worked with. I'm not a huge fan of plastic exteriors, but the guts of this bad boy are just.... really well thought out.

Welcome to our 4K gaming build guide. You want all dem pixels? Well you're gonna need to drive all dem pixels. Prepare your bodies and prepare your minds!

Noctua's Redux line of fans brings their outstanding quality and technology down to a price that more people will be able to afford... But have they made too many compromises?

Sonos' software and hardware ecosystem is simple enough that you can be up and running within 5 minutes, and yet so deep that I needed two nearly 10-minute videos to cover it properly!

Intel Quicksync is an underused option that doesn't get enough time in the lime light! Now, when streaming with OBS, you can harness Quicksync to stream faster...

Upgrading your PC hard drive to an SSD is so easy if you follow this guide, that even my undead uncle can do it!

What does it take to make an impact on potential RAM shoppers? I guess we'll find out!

2014x218 Pebble Steel Review

2014x218 Pebble Steel Review

  • 2014-06-23T22:00:00Z8m

The Pebble Steel is nothing revolutionary. Even the industrial design - the one thing they changed - isn't exactly groundbreaking, but it's definitely a really nice upgrade for previous Pebble owners who are looking for something a little nicer.

TWO overclocking beasts today! The Core i7 4790K and Pentium G3258 Anniversary Edition!

My review of the Fujitsu Scansnap ix500 is based on what we use it for, so it might not be the most comprehensive thing ever. Basically we needed one of these for business use, and you guys told me you wanted me to review that kind of stuff, so here goes.

SSDs and hard drives (HDDs) always get compared to each other the same way. A fresh operating system with the latest drivers running in an ideal environment. We decided to throw a curve ball at that!

A great value, and extremely well built triple monitor stand that can handle up to three 27" displays... If you were looking for one of those, then I guess your search is over!

Notebook coolers may not be necessary if you have a well-designed, adequately cooled laptop, but let's face it... Not all portable computers can be described with the previous couple of statements.

NZXT's Kraken series was the first to hit the market packing 140mm and 280mm radiators. Now they're looking to up the ante with the X41 and X61!

  • 2014-07-01T22:00:00Z8m

  • 2014-07-03T22:00:00Z8m

This is the fourth video in our "handy tech under $100" series. We show off three different gadgets that tickled our fancy.

This was a collaborative effort with Tek Syndicate, Austin Evans, Newegg TV, and mother nature herself. I hope you enjoy the story of our struggle to overcome

  • 2014-07-10T22:00:00Z8m

My review of the Gigabyte BRIX Gaming Micro-PC is here. This beast is packing a DESKTOP GTX 760!! The idea behind this product is awesome, but how does it perform?

My review of the Fractal Design Core 3500 is here. We love all of the Fractal people, and we all know that they have created a variety of fantastic cases -- some of which have become industry standards. But does the Core 3500 meet the high standards we now expect all Fractal cases to achieve?

How much more raw power would an XBox One or a PS4 need to output 60fps? What about 1080p? See how well "next-gen" console gaming performance stacks up against a beastly PC graphics card, the... the GTX 480?...

My review of the Phanteks Enthoo Pro computer case is here. Phanteks is still relatively new to the case manufacturing scene, but the Enthoo Pro shows how far their understanding of the market has come in a very short time.

My review of the Flash Voyager GTX from Corsair is here. They claim that its performance rivals that of an SSD... But is that actually the case?

My review of the ZBoard San Francisco Special Electric Skateboard is here! Is it a toy, or is it a feasible mode of transportation? Watch the video to find out!

My review of the Cooler Master N600 computer case is here. The exterior matches its value price, but the interior may hold a few surprises...

My review of the ASUS PadFone X is here. This product promises a lot -- is the design too ambitious, or is it an exciting step into the future for mobile devices?

2014x240 Dropcam Pro by Nest

  • 2014-07-22T22:00:00Z8m

My review of the AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable Lite is here. I love the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable - did they take too much away from the Lite, or is it the same fantastic product in a more affordable package?

The BitFenix Pandora is a gorgeous case, but it is certainly not without fault... Are its good looks and ambitious design enough to justify the issues you might encounter in the build process?

The AORUS X3 Plus - this thing is an absolute monster in a tiny package. But does it run into the same thermal throttling issues we experienced on the BRIX Gaming?

My first experience with Topre keyswitches is with the Novatouch TKL. I didn't think I was going to like it, but I ended up quite surprised!

Acer has taken a huge step back onto the right track with their XB280HK G-Sync monitor. But is 4K G-Sync still too ambitious for most gamers running current mainstream hardware?
