Locke & Key: Season 1

1x03 Head Games

Some dark wtf moments happen in this show. When you least expect it.

The bad almost outweighs the good. At times this feels like a CW show.

I can’t make heads or tails with this show... sometimes it’s plain and boring with the highschool teen stuff, then it has those dark twists and some WTF moments like throwing that kid under the train!!!
But I’m intrigued enough to keep watching

As very often happens... My favourite character is the villainous woman. I just like her style.
The show has this light bearded 'kid' tone at times then smacks you in the face with the angst of what the family went through only months ago. Its painful but in a good way. Wtf is Kinsey doing though. She killed her fear I guess? That can only end badly.

The plot starts to develop more at this point. I feel like the first two episodes where a little on the slower side. There was a lot of focus on the kids being at school which I personally didn't care for. Echo carries this story forward, a very eerie character that keeps you guessing.
I hope they'll shift the story to focus more on the secrets of Rendell Locke and his friends, Echo and the keys instead of the teenage school drama, which I get it; it's for character development but right now it feels like all they want to show us is how mopey Kinsey and Tyler go about their day to day lives.

Soooo... I know there’s a lot that’s wrong with this, problems everywhere but one that is striking me right now is just how irresponsible the grown ups are.
I mean. Their dad just died horribly. And they don’t get counselling or therapy, nothing? As far as I know that’s mandatory here and kids get that for free? Like..? There’s so much damage trauma does, and kids don’t have the armour grown ups have so they need help especially ... but like? What? Acting out is a typical behaviour for boys after or during trauma. “He’s Not been himself”, no shit.

The “what’s with the shorts?”
“Do my legs look cold to you?”
actually was a fun line.

So if you’re going inside a door but leave the key outside ... wouldn’t that make you extremely vulnerable to strange well ladies out for keys?
