oh man, this one is such a cool concept.. kinda like a steampunk Battle Angel: Alita with Chinese folklore; I would totally watch an extended version of this story in the style of an R-rated Avatar: The Last Airbender /The Legend of Korra.

Gets more world building accomplished in 17 minutes than the average 2 hour movie.

Excellent. There's so much in this one.

Starts like a anime style folklore monster story leaning towards a love story. Then industrialisation arrives and magic disappears, a quite common theme. But then, it's not really our world anymore as the machines are much more developed. It gets dark when it turns out Yan had to become a prostitute to survive, and then quickly much much darker when a client cut off her whole body to satisfy his fantasy. Damn that was hardcore.

A lot happens, very original, going in unexpected directions. The design of machines is very good. The rest of the anime style is good but standard.

One of the best and most beautiful animated shorts I've ever seen. While Love Death and Robots is more of a mash-up of Twilight Zone and the Animatrix, this tale set in a steam-punk version of Hong Kong was hauntingly told and filled with lush animation.

I am absolutely stunned. This is definitely my favorite episode so far. It is simply haunting.

The animation is beautiful, especially the backgrounds are outstandingly gorgeous. The music is so well chosen and the voice actors do an amazing job.

It's brilliant how the story starts more in a fantasy kind of direction and then slowly drifts into a steampunk style where the title given robots appear again.

The relationship between the two main characters is heartfelt and it easily engages you in their story.

It is shocking and twisted and the same time gentle and fragile.

This is one where story where I would want an entire movie based on it.

A weird and disgusting cyberpunk furry hentai.
Written by horny teenager? Probably not but it really looks like it.

With this one they actually managed to make a story that sticks with you and makes you think, which is a feat in itself with this format. Most of the others rely on a shock twist to make an impression, so kudos to team behind this one.

This did not go in the direction I was expecting! I'm not a fan of anime or the art style used here, but for this story it worked very well and the two main characters were developed well in the short time allowed.

this is definitely in my top 5 so far

love the animation

really enjoy the parallels within the story itself

the journey of these two characters natural Born enemies who find strength in themselves as they have to endure a ever-changing world around them

I also really enjoy the mixture of real life history with a steampunk science fiction aesthetic

Wow what a journey of an episode. Truly unique blend of Eastern folklore and the cyberpunk genre. Such a brutal world and harsh on Yan but I'm glad she got some semblance of herself back in the end. And I'm also really glad they didn't do the obvious thing and have there be a romance between her and Liang. A beautiful connection in an ugly world.

This was a great one. I love the style and how they captured the old world and traditions and magic clashing with the new world and technology and sci-fi.

The animation was well-done, the choreographies good and I enjoyed the style that differed so much from the other episodes.

One of my favorites so far.
