That was a rollercoaster of emotions. I didn't think he would actually kill that kid with the dinosaur.
Holy shit, the setting in that last scene gave me so much of “The Last of Us” vibes.
Amazing detail in this futuristic look “Blade Runner” style. Best one so far in the season.
This is what sci-fi is all about.
Blade Runner: Children of Men Special Edition
Yupp that seems like IF humanity makes it so far into the future (how far that really might be), this is a realistic reality. shudder
This episode was an utter masterpiece. The way the story builds while the world unravels. Stunning visuals, the best of what this show is able to do. Cannot wait to watch again.
Damn that was intense.
I also like that the crux of it wasn't 'Omg kids are the best tho we should all have them' it was more that some people just felt they had nothing left to experience without them. Which is fair I suppose.
Personally though? Sign me tf up to live forever in a child free utopia.
Holy shit how could a 15 minute thing be THIS FUCKING IMPACTFUL. That hit DEEP and felt too REAL... Easily the best episode of the show so far.
He says stop multiple times but she keeps pressing. When he finally gets her off him, he apologises... Fuck that. No means no.
I think this gave me a reason to have kids
Wow. Just wow on the animation and the story was powerful too. Great episode
A heavy hitter of an episode. Fantastic all around.
Awesome episode : beautiful and sad story presented with stunning visuals. Strongly recommended.
I think there isn't a better description of society right now. Also the animation is brutal
I wanted to see this story in a movie
After two boring episodes, this was the best so far.
Where are the robots? It is a deal-breaking for me because I'm expecting that concept, love, death, and robots in every episode.
A world where kids are forbidden because people live forever. A cop tasked with eliminating the illegal children that some people still have is having doubts.
I guess if you're already into having children, you'll find this a beautiful story about how it's wonderful to have kids and find the mother's speech brilliant and inspiring.
If you're not, you'll be on the side of the majority of the world: why would you give up literally everything to have one of these screaming poop machine ? And you'll find this pretty boring, because apart from that, there is nothing.
Ironically, despite the mother starting by saying she's "not so in love with herself that she wants to live forever", she only describes the child in relation to what she brings to her life, basically novelty because she was already bored after having lived so long. So not such a great case for the selflessness of having kids.
Graphics are ok, nothing special (maybe cause I just watched the last one of season 1 ?). Eyes are not great, it's a bit disturbing.
Edit: Nope, just started watching the next one, graphics are several levels above.
The story itself is such a cliche of sci-fi, you already know it. It's been done over and over and over since at least Fahrenheit 451 (70 years ago). Just replace "having kids" with whatever is forbidden in your futuristic setting: kittens, art, books, love...
What a terrific episode. Beautifully animated, well acted and an emotional rollercoaster. It is shocking and at parts uncomfortable to watch but with good payoff in the end.
The scenario is horrific. Set in the future where procedures exist to grant eternal life, people stopped having children and to prevent the world to suffer from overpopulation the police hunts down and kills illegal kids.
The protagonist here, a cop (played excellently by Nolan North) starts to grow a conscious and questions if what he is doing is right.
It is a little bit reminiscent of Deckard's arc in Blade Runner, but with a tighter, shorter story attached to it that has just as much impact.
The first two episodes of season 2 were a disappointment but this one is Love, Death and Robots as it's best.
This one was perfect I do wish they went for more of a photo realistic look like some episodes in Season 1.
This is a good episode but I hate it also because I can't contemplate a without children or one where they are killed to allow others to live. Even seeing one child killed makes me sick to my stomach. All I can see are that boy's eyes. I guess I just do not like the subject matter.
7.5/10 - Wow, that was a really powerful episode. Completely mental but very "interesting" (I feel guilty for enjoying it as this is obviously so evil).
The CGI and city design was nice, one could really feel the Detective struggling, and it did a good job at showing this already established concept from a new angle (much more brutal than in other movies/shows but not too brutal, which I really appreciate).
However, this also made me wonder why you cannot have registered children (up to the amount of parents) if you trade your life for theirs (once they reach a certain age you can say goodbye and have a "humane" death). I'm not saying that this is a good idea but ethically it is a nice question, IMO.
Best visual so far. The story it's ok.
Great dark episode. The only issue is that the short run time makes the character development unrealistically sudden. Still great sci fi concept
Okay this one was damn good! holy shit, perfectly dark in every way.
The best one till now. Very Blade Runner-esque (the ending is just screaming "hey, 'member that movie?") but still pretty interesting.

Holy shit this was beautiful, by far my favorite.
