Me on the phone with Netflix after Lucifer got renewed for a final season 5 last year: So, no season 6? * smashes the phone on the ground and jumps on a skateboard, breaking it *
Netflix two months ago: Fine, you can have season 6... as a treat

I think we can all congratulate ourselves on successfully bullying Netflix execs into extending Lucifer's run. It's good to have this show back and to know that we don't have to say goodbye to the characters for like 2 more years.

Things I loved about the premiere: Maze and Chloe's partnership (the kiss though!), Linda trying to unlock her half angel baby's full potential, getting to see Ella's darker side, Dan providing more comic relief (he actually works best for me this way).

Things I didn't like: the evil twin thing, which I knew was coming after watching the trailer, but I just do not vibe with these kinds of storylines at all, so hopefully it doesn't drag on for too long.

The episode was pretty fun overall. I'm looking forward to what the rest of this first batch of season 5 has in store.

Love that they've continued the tradition of the first episode of each new season starting with Mr. Said Out.

Chloe looks so different, I barely recognized her.

And Maze continues the pattern of falling in love with anyone who's kind to her. I was really hoping the writers would let her have some peace this season...

Quite a poor episode, honestly.

I was so looking forward to new episodes but this was such a boring start...

Chloe/Lucifer is one of my fav current ships.

@SophieFilo16 Remember how you pointed out that Maze threw affection to anybody who showed her the least bit of attention? Well I won't spoil anything for you, but I wanted to say boy were you right! And yeah, she does wear too much makeup. If I were writing her character, this is not the route I'd go.

Also Maze destroyed that beautiful piano.

Uhhh, who the hell is that person at the end and why are they pretending to be Lucifer!??:skull:

Amenadiel is really annoying by rushing things what he thinks is right or what might be his purpose by god

Oh my goodness, I have no idea what is happening in this episode, the plot is all over the place, the acting is totally unrealistic, the action is a bunch of video game bad guys coming out of nowhere for no reason and standing still while shooting infinite ammo pistols at an indestructible kitchen island.

I have no idea, but it's hilarious, and I enjoyed it.

Main story of this season with Michael is very stupid. Seems like they were in a rush and took all the cliches and put it together. Also that cliffhanger at half the season..

That was freaking amazing! For the first time I am interested in all storylines/characters.

Pls dont do the 'Maze is in love with Chloe'. They were friends for like an hour and the rest of 4 season they were enemies or barely had interactions.

Also plz stop with Lucifers 'Im not good for them'. After 4 season I thought all the revelations from the final eps of s04 explained every bit of his insecurities and self hatred . STOP IT ALREADY!

And yet again, I love the theme of the person who loves you knows that's not the real you so if the motive that Chloe won't see its not Lucifer will be the main thing keeping them apart for another season I will burst with flames.

Curious way to return, that there and here.

I got such a sense of fulfillment, I mean I was sooo happy when they kissed -- how long have we been waiting, right? And, that deep happiness was ripped away during the last minute when it proved to be false...I cried!

How dare they play with my emotions like that? A very good start!

I have to think, assuming the trailer/teaser for season 5 was correct in giving the impression it's Lucifer's brother, Michael, who's impersonating him, that he's doing it to lure Lucifer back to earth, since he's gotta know Morningstar's gonna hear about someone who looks like him getting in touch with Chloe.

I am so happy Lucifer is back, and I loved this first episode. one of the best season opening episodes. And it feels like it taking a little bit darker tone. I hope I have right about this for the rest om the finale season. :smiling_imp:
