Not too shabby of a season premier! Loved seeing how Mac, Riley, Bozer and Desi all were doing post-Phoenix, though with the hints at some sort of short-lived romance between Mac and Desi, I'm hoping they touch on that further. It otherwise just feels like they put in a few lines to try and bridge between the year gap with useless information.
It's a little jarring, having Henry portray a character with an English accent - especially since I'm so used to seeing him as Marcus on The 100, with the American accent... Even though he grew up with a Scottish one! Nevertheless, while I haven't exactly warmed up to his character Russ just yet, it's exciting to see him in such a different role.
Oh! And the visual effects with all the labels of everything in the room when Macgyver's trying to muster up a plan? Seriously so cool, I love it. I'm glad it seems to have made a return, just gives a little unique element to the series.
