(6.9/10) - This episode felt very different from the first in both positive and negative ways. Although this episode was slightly longer and also slower paced, there were some essential moments for character development and the situation still continues to be highly mysterious.

(SPOILERS!!!) The primary storyline was Frank Castle hunting down Micro (a man who called him on the phone whilst he was eating his breakfast.) After interrogating and then murdering Carson Wolf, in true Punisher style, Frank discovered that Micro was in fact David Lieberman, the husband of Sarah (a woman who knocked The Punisher out with her car.)

The ending of the episode was probably the highlight, as it was very spooky and unpredictable. I liked the feel of the atmosphere and how Frank’s journey to track down Micro quickly became Micro’s problem as Frank had turned the tables (again in true Punisher style.)

Overall, this was not at all a bad episode, it just was kinda slow and some of the insights into Frank’s past just need explaining at this point, so fingers crossed for answers in tomorrow’s episode.

OK, these constant useless family flashbacks are going to get real annoying real fast.

Castle really doesn't give a shit, let's go torture and kill the ranking DHS officer, no problem. Guy had some good rest despite being in an office. However I'm always kinda surprised that these pro can't feel when a gun is empty.

I thought it was gonna be about the consequences of what he did in the previous episode, but in the end it's back to hid family. We'll see where that leads.

And poor Karen... really bad choices in men.

Small universe mistake here, sure elsewhere it would be in character to refer to the 9/11 trauma, but hello ? Have you heard of the 2012 alien invasion ?

Episode 2 opens by fixing one of the problems in episode 1. It humanizes his past. Frank has an ideal and perfect memory of his wife. It's a frustrating aspect that drags down the season. He doesn't fondly remember any fights or times she got upset at him. He remember her smiling angelic face and nothing else for most of the season. In the opening for episode 2 he sees his past with his children as the complex relationship that it was.

This episode also has one of the other things that frustrated me which is to say that the writing doesn't match the video. Castle has an "I don't care about life" beard and people comment that he looks like a hipster which is supposed to be a funny call back when he eventually shaves it. The problem is he doesn't in anyway look like a hipster. It just strikes me as an odd point they should have taken out.

Frank receives a mysterious phone call that pulls him back into his disturbing past. With the help of Karen, who is friends with Matt and Foggy, Castle unravels the identity of this "Micro" figure and then seeks out Carson for information. The episode ends with Frank following David back to his hideout and punching him in the face.

Still pretty slow, bordering on boring, but better than the first episode.
