McMafia 2018

Reasonable series with a fairly good (if somewhat overused) mafia vendetta plot line. Pity the male lead actor seems to be going for the "Most Wooden Actor (2018)" award! He only really has two looks, blank stare and dumbfounded. Big difference between cool reserve and being an outright flat and characterless bore!

In the sixth episode the characters, and story, walked away from me and I lost the connection with both of them.
Norton is a decent actor in other productions but here he never manage to build his character to someone you either like or dislike or is able to bond to in any way, he just is. And that's a problem when you have the lead role. The cast in all is interesting and performs well and I think I would've been able to really like this show but without a proper lead character it all falls flat.

I got to say, it isn't the best show but it will keep you entertain. Would I recommend it? Certainly. Better than most things on TV :smirk:

Slow start but picks up speed quickly. Story gets really interesting. Cast was well picked.
Looking forward to the next season!

I’m really surprised this show has such low rating. Just finished it & thought it was absolutely amazing. While others say the lead actor has a flat facial expression. I think it’s the perfect “poker” face when taking down his enemies. But I guess everyone’s opinion is different...what I like the most was how the story is told & the use of its sound track to create drama...I feel like I loved everything about the show. I hope they make another season.

This show has a great story and some decent actors in it. Sadly James Norton who plays Alex Goodman the lead is a real let down. He just cannot act and it ruins the show in so many places that it's almost unwatchable. He is supposedly having a tough time in this movie, his uncle is killed, his partner is under threat, plenty of other things happen, he barely raises an eyebrow emotionally. If there is an award for the most wooden actor, we've found the winner, though I wouldn't expect much of an emotional acceptance speech, quite aptly id imagine.
