Awesome Anime. Made with a lot of love and you can feel it. The Animation is great (Old school vibe because it’s an omage to Hajime no Ippo’s 50th anniversary). Looks a bit like Samurai Champloo plus the Hip Hop Musik makes it feel even more similar. And YES, the Soundtrack is a masterpiece. Never heard a Soundtrack as great as this one in Animes before!!! I also loved that they completed it in 1 season. It was the perfect pace for the story and I never felt bored. This one gets a 9.5 vote from me!
This has been great so far. Probably the only "new" anime I'll watch this season and already thought to be the best one so far, and I agree.
Everything from animation, to directing and music has been great. This is a quality anime like one we've not seen lately. It's great to see old school anime styles coming back like this, hope for more.
Season 1: meh 5. Too repetitive. I didnt like it.
Season 2: great 8. It gets a little bit dark but i like how they turn the story to another type of show. I loved the soundtrack.
It's been a while since I've watched an anime from beginning to end. Really liked the show. Good pacing, fighting and characters were all intersting. Short and sweet!
Okay boxing anime with I believe a weak ending. Music and animation is great!
An absurd premise (as if adding machines to boxing would make it more interesting), but the animation is a beautiful classic style, the music is great and the storytelling is exciting.
While the boxing matches are definitely beautiful to watch, the show struggles with the challenge of making the challenge of the boxing matches themselves exciting. We generally have to rely on drama surrounding the boxing matches to drive the tension in the story, while the combat itself is actually not important. The creators definitely recognise this: we never even learn the outcome of the final match and they didn't give us any reason to care. It's still a great story regardless, but it is robbed of some of its potential by its failure to invest in its core premise.
It further undermines its own premise of "mechanised boxing" when "Junk Dog" aka "Gearless Joe" decides to fight with the gimmick of not using the machines that are the signature of this anime. On the one hand, this is a reminder that machine-enhancement is completely unnecessary for a boxing match, but on the flip side, if the machines did have any purpose then they would be turning ordinary boxers into murder machines.
But putting aside the lack of commitment to its premise, it's pretty entertaining.
Great animation, awesome soundtrack, also has a very straightforward and simple narrative.
this has't aired yet, it is one day later

This anime is by far the best for this season. The animation has an old school vibe to it, not something you would expect to see in today's anime.
