The episode was full of illogical elements and plot holes, such as Arthur first urging Merlin to travel faster and then staying a while to discuss his feelings for Gwen. The whole story with the monsters looked ridiculous. The ending of Gwen and Lancelot's story also lacks logic, as they are both single and commoners as well as attracted to one another, so there is really no reason why they should not be together. Arthur is interested in her but with Gwen being a serving maid, their union is unlikely.

The scene at the very beginning when the farmer who impersonated Arthur at the tourney (it seems he later really became a knight) is killed with an arrow was quite sad to me, the character of a"false" knight was a really nice person, and added some humour to the show as well. Anyway, I wonder why Uther allowed Morgana and Gwen to ride without a proper escort?
