On the paper, very nice idea. I mean, an alternative present where witches exists, are part of the USA foundation, and even be an army, is pretty cool. But there are a lot of things that doesn't work for me in the development of the story. I mean, ferocious enemies that suddenly become reliable allies, deep hate that with no reason at all, nor a believable evolution become respect, even love; characters that moves into the story with no realistic motivation, unlogical choices done just for sake of the plot, that by the way is very flawed and full of holes. Everything moves on in a very forced way. Almost like the actors.
I find interesting though the "inversion" of roles: women are the archetype of mens in action movies: they decide, they fight, they are in command. And men instead, they are the women: they worry, they support, they are the ones that are staying behind, when women decide to go on a battle. It is an intriguing (and probably unintentional) way to understand how action characters are sometimes flat and similar to each one, but other than this, for me this is not empowering women, it's just the same old soup, with inverted roles.
Also, given those premises, I was expecting something more daring, with more action, more and better VFX, but sadly everything is slow, bleak, and sometimes visual effects are beyond the limits of the ridiculous, and often are just a way to cover a plot hole.
Basically it is a teen drama (and should be presented like that), but the problem is that also grown-ups behaves like teens.

Totally forgettable, pointless, even boring.
