After his father-in-law's death, Hiromasa Akiyoshi (Atsuro Watabe), his wife (Tomoka Kurotani) and mother-in-law (Yoshie Ichige) ask Hiromasa Akiyoshi to succeed his father-in-law and run for mayor. Hiromasa Akiyoshi agrees and is elected mayor. He begins reforms as a novice mayor, while he struggles with family matters. Through all of this, Hiromasa Akiyoshi is able to find his true self....
