HAARP is a live album and video by English alternative rock band Muse, released on 17 March 2008 in the United Kingdom[1] and April 1, 2008 in the United States.[2] The CD documents the band's performance at London's Wembley Stadium on 16 June 2007, while the DVD contains 20 tracks from the performance on 17 June. The album is named after the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, of which vocalist Matthew Bellamy (known for his interest in global conspiracies and the New World Order conspiracy which influences the band's music) holds suspicion
Muse grew up and met at school in the Devon seaside town of Teignmouth. This programme features highlights of their show in the town's seafront area known as The Den - their smallest performance for some years, and the first one in the town since they formed the band ten years before.
The fan base for Muse grows with every release. 2006 s Black Holes And Revelations broke into the U.S. Top 10 while hitting #1 in the U.K. and much of Europe, where it sold 1 million copies and was #3 on NME's Albums Of The Year list. A multiple BRIT Award winner for Best Live Act, Muse then staged two massive sold-out performances at 90,000-seat Wembley Stadium in London last June, which increasingly are recognised as amongst the definitive live moments of the year. The best performances from those concerts, as well as bonus backstage footage, are presented on the CD/DVD set HAARP. The concerts once again demonstrated the raw power and unquenchable ambition of one of the UK's most successful long-term bands and one of, if not the, greatest, most ambitious live act in the world at the present time.
On July 6th, multi-platinum-selling British band Muse took to the stage at Rome's Olympic Stadium in front of a capacity audience of more than 60,000 euphoric fans. This package showcases the most extravagant set built and spectacular stage show of any Muse tour to date. The band take the audience on a mesmerizing journey using pyrotechnics, expansive digital screens, and a troop of actors to accompany their epic playlist of 20 tracks, mixed in incredible surround sound, including hits from their most recent studio album The 2nd Law, as well as classics such as "Uprising," "Madness," "Supermassive Black Hole," "Starlight," "Time Is Running Out," and "Knights of Cydonia."
