NCIS: Los Angeles 2009

3

My personal list of Fictional Procedural Crime TV Shows. Most of these I have personally watched at least a few seasons of and/or I am working my way through. Some I have not started yet but I have heard good things about. There are also a few exceptions to the Procedural part (Broadchurch being a great example!) but the vast majority do fall under the definition.

NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is a media franchise of American television programs originally created by Donald P. Bellisario and currently broadcast on CBS, all of which deal with military related criminal investigations based on the Naval Criminal Investigative Service of the United States Department of the Navy, which includes the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps.

In 2003, NCIS was introduced via a backdoor pilot, from the TV show JAG with NCIS in turn spinning off NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Hawaiʻi, and NCIS: Sydney in 2009, 2014, 2021, and 2023 respectively. NCIS: Los Angeles had a proposed spin-off, but it was not picked up by CBS.

Five television series make up the NCIS franchise: NCIS, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Hawaiʻi, and Sydney. All series in total amount to 987 episodes across 44 seasons of television. The main NCIS series is the longest-running show of the franchise, which premiered its twentieth season on September 19, 2022.

These are some of my favorite classic detective/law enforcement TV Shows I remember growing up. These shows are not a random copy and paste list. These are real shows I personally enjoyed. I don't believe in lists that contain 8,000 movies claiming that everyone must see before they die. Dumping tens of thousands of movies in a playlist to share is irresponsible to others. No one can be helped by that! It can only mean that you're not genuine with your "selection." In fact, you'd probably die before you actually even finish looking through that long list!!
