This episode features a very calm performance from Prunella Scales - as the younger sister of Simon Peel (Sinden).
Of course his arch enemy Smallbridge (Davies) fancies her and starts winding us his nemesis.
This runs alongside the ‘plot’ of the the two antique dealers competing over a pair of valuable ornaments - it’s cliched stuff now but this was pre-watershed comedy from the early 80s. There’s even a gormless sidekick on hand to provide some low-hanging fruit gags.
... and it’s from ITV to boot!
With all that considered it’s harmlessly enjoyable but hardly groundbreaking.
